Manifold Technology - I
BEULCO heating and cooling manifolds made of high-quality brass ensure an efficient and equal heat distribution and thus constant temperatures. In connection with integrated regulation valves the manifolds guarantee the exact setting of flow quantity. All BEULCO manifolds are ready to connect, leak tested and equipped with sound-insulated fastening elements.

Stop valve upper partIn order to guarantee a long life the spindles of the valves have been treated by vibratory finishing and are double sealed by two o-rings. Due to the vibratory finishing there is no friction at the seals so that they live longer. The valves are activated by hand caps or electric actuators.
Characteristics
Depending on the situation, it is sometimes necessary to change flow and return. With BEULCO heating and cooling manifolds this is no problem.Exception: when using topmeters – these have to be installed into the return.
If needed, heating circuits can be mounted in a way that the outlets point upwards. In this case you can change the trunks or only the valves without problems.
Flow and returnThe manifolds are constructed in a way that flow and return are staggered in order to simplify the installation and the mounting. In this way pipes can be laid easily behind the manifold trunks.
Electric actuatorThe electric actuators for BEULCO heating and cooling manifolds (230V / 24V) can be mounted subsequently on the thermostatic valves. They are extremely energy efficient and only have a power consumption of 1 or 2 watt per hour.
Flow meter (Topmeter)The topmeter serves for fast and exact regulation of the water flow in the heating circuits. The installation is always made in the return. The flow control and align-ment enable deeper temperatures and thus a more economical operation.
The regulation can be performed with a 8 mm allen key. By turning clock-wise, the flow is reduced and by turning counterclockwise, the flow is increased.

Different norms and regulations, among them the Energy-saving Decree (EnEv) in Germany, VOB/C DIN 18380, DIN EN 14336 and DIN EN 12831, require a hydraulic balancing. This is an important precondition for the perfect functioning and the energy-efficient operation of a plant. Only with a system that is hydraulically balanced in all components the required control accuracy and efficiency can be achieved.
In Germany the hydraulic balancing process is required by law for new systems and when renovating existing systems. Providing evidence is thus obligatory.
In order to ensure an optimal balance, BEULCO manifolds are equipped with stop valves and fine regulating val-ves.
The following method allows to find the correct setting values (particularly in existing systems):

Presetting the fine regulation valveDetach black cap of lead seal, close the valve completely by means of the ventilating key. Read the requested presetting value from the diagram. Open the valve by turning corresponding to the quantity of turns. Remove the ventilating key, plug in the cap of lead seal and plumb, if required.
ExampleTo guarantee a flow of 150 l/h with a •p value of 2000 daPa, the spindle has to be opened with 4 1/2 turns by the ventilating key.

Presetting the flow regulation valve:Close the valve completely. Remove the screw of the handwheel, but do not remove the handwheel.Screw in the presetting spindle clockwise in the valve spindle all the way to the stop. The valve is then completely blocked. Read the desired presetting value from the diagram. Hold the handwheel and screw the presetting spindle to the left, as often as you see from the diagram. Rescrew fastening screw of the handwheel.
