NOTE: TheslingerringassemblyonLycominginstallationsisintegratedwiththestarterringgear.

(1) Ifapplicable,removethespinnerbulkheadfromthepropellerhub.Thespinnerbulkheadmaybemountedtothemountingareaofthestarterringgearwithabolt,washer,andnutoritmaybemountedtothehubthroughthehubclampingbolt.

(2) Removethehubclampingnut,washers,aluminumspacer(5130),andhubclampingboltfromtheboltholeatthebladesocketclosesttotheleadingedgeoftheblade.RefertoFigure10.11-14.

(3) Installthetraveltubeunit(5020)usingtheP-clip(5090)andthepreviouslyinstalledhubclampingbolt,washers,aluminumspacer,andnut,inaccordancewithFigure10.11-14.

(4) Snugthehubclampingnut.Donottorquethehubclampingnutatthistime.

(5) Withthepropelleratlowbladeangle,aligntheopeningofthetraveltubeunit(5020)withtheleadingedgeoftheblade.SeeFigure10.11-14forthegapbetweentheopeningofthetraveltubeunit.

(6) Repeatforalltraveltubeunits.

CAUTION: THETRAVELTUBEUNITMUSTNOTCONTACTTHESPINNERDOMEBLADECUTOUT.

(7) Putthespinnerdomeonthebulkhead,aligningtheattachingholes.Checkforclearancebetweenthetraveltubeunit(5020)andthespinnerdomebladecutout.Thetraveltubeunitmustnotcontactthespinnerdomebladecutout.

(8) Makeadjustmentstothepositionofthetraveltubeunitasrequired.

(9) Removethespinnerdome.

CAUTION: THETRAVELTUBEUNITMAYROTATEDURINGTHETORQUEPROCESS,CHECKALIGNMENTOFTHETRAVELTUBEUNITAFTERTORQUING.

(10) Torquethehubclampingbolt20-22Ft-Lbs(27.1-29.8N•m),securingthetraveltubeunit(5020).

(11) Usingthebolt(5100),washer(5220),andnut(5200)attachtheslingerringassembly(5000)tothehubinaccordancewithFigure10.11-14.

(12) Usinghoseclampsorusing0.032in(0.81mm)diameterstainlesssteelwire(A-6741-131),attachthetraveltubehose(5010)tothetraveltubeunit(5020)andtheslingerringassembly(5000).RefertoFigure10.11-14.
