1. Introduction to LG HomeChat

• What are the main Air Conditioner functions provided by LG HomeChat?

- Control: Power On/Off, Mode Settings, Temperature Settings, Wind Speed Settings,

Energy Saving mode, and Timers.

- Status and Monitoring: Check Air Conditioner Status, Energy Monitoring, Filter Status,

and Timers.

• What kind of service is LG HomeChat?

- LG HomeChat service enables users to chat with their products with everyday

language through mobile messenger LINE.

• What are the system requirements for LG HomeChat?*

The recommended phone specification are as below:

1. Recommended OS

- iPhone: iOS 7.0 or higher (iPhone 4s or higher)

- Android: 4.0 ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich) or higher (1G memory or higher)

2. Recommended browser

-iPhone: Default browser and/or Safari browser

-Android: Default browser and/or Chrome browser

* Note that depending on the condition of your mobile device, some functions may not be

supported.

(*LAN090HYV1 and LAN120HYV1* are for US only)


Please check if the LINE application is installed on your

mobile device, and if not, search and install 'LINE' from

your application market(Google Play Store,

Apple App Store).

Additional data charges may occur if installed

over 3G/4G.

② Find 'LG HomeChat' from the list or search for

'LG HomeChat' through the search function and

select it.

③ Add 'LG HomeChat' as friend, and you

are ready to chat with LG HomeChat.

Tip for adding friends

Go to 'Add Friends > QR Code' menu on LINE and

scan the QR code on the right to access adding

friends function more conveniently.

④ HomeChat is set up and ready to start talking to

you. Start chatting with HomeChat by following the

3 step guide.


② If you are over 13, tap the '13

or Over' button.

(Age limits for registration are

13 or over for U.S. users and

14 or over for Canadian users.)

LG HomeChat does not allow service to young

children for safety purposes. Please make

sure young children do not use HomeChat

service.

② Tap the Air Conditioner Icon from the

product icons available for HomeChat

connection.

Please register by following the

instructions provided by LG ThinQ.

① To control your products through

HomeChat, you need to first register your

product. Enter “Connect” for the „Connect

My product‟ link.

If you do not have a LG Account, please

register by tapping the “Sign Up” button on

the bottom of the page.

[Register Product (ThinQ)]

① Select your country and then

login with your ThinQ ID.

② A popup window will be

displayed when logging in for the

first time. Tap “OK‟ to go to the

registration page.

③ Turn Wi-Fi on your smartphone

and set AC to Wi-Fi mode then tap

„Continue‟.

Install the „LG Smart AC‟ App on

your mobile device and connect

your AC to ThinQ to control your

products through HomeChat.

If the app is not already installed,

search and install „LG Smart

AC‟ from your app market

(Google Play Store, Apple App

Store).

.

Additional data charges may occur if installed over 3G/4G.

④ Tap „OK‟ to reset settings and

clear history.

⑤ Select a network to connect to.

(Search results from the AC will be

displayed)

⑥ Enter Password and tap „OK‟.

⑦ Enter nickname and tap

„Complete‟.

⑧ Product is connected to LG

Smart AC App and ThinQ. Tap

„OK‟.

⑨ Select a product from the LG

Smart AC App if you have more

than one product registered.

① If you have registered to ThinQ and your

product is connected, insert LG Account ID

and Password and tap „Connect to

HomeChat.‟

② Products with „Available‟ displayed on the

right is available for HomeChat service.

Select a product you wish to connect to

HomeChat, and tap „Next‟.

③ Connection successfully completed!

Tap „Go back to Chatroom‟ and chat to

your products.


Air Conditioner Status

Enter “AC What are you doing?" or “Air

Conditioner Status“ to check the current

status of your Air Conditioner.

Enter ”Air Conditioner” to call your Air

Conditioner.

Command List

Enter “Air Conditioner Quick button” to active

the quick button function.

You can select functions by tapping on the

buttons or by entering the key words.


You can cool your house ahead of time before coming back home by entering ”Air Conditioner ON”.

Enter ”Air Conditioner OFF” if you forgot to turn off your AC before leaving your home.

Enter ”Change Wind Speed” to change wind

speed settings. („Auto‟ is unavailable on the

LP1415WXRSM model)

Check your temperature by entering ”Change

Temp” and then change temperature.

Enter “Energy Saving” to turn on Energy Saving

mode during Cool mode.

Enter “Energy Saving OFF” to turn off energy

saving mode. Cool mode will stay on.

Energy Saving mode can be turned ON during Cool Mode.

Enter “AC Change Mode“ to select different air conditioning modes.

Enter the mode directly to change modes faster.

Set timers before you go to sleep or before

you come back home to start/stop air

conditioning at the time of your choice.

Enter “Air Conditioner Timer" and tap the link

to set timers.

② Select time and tap „Apply‟.

③ The results will be displayed in your

chatroom.

④ You can also check the results on the timer

remote control.

bottom of the control screen.

② Select the Timer Tab on

the Detail screen.

③ Tap the „Apply‟ button

at the bottom of the screen

Change the filter regularly to keep the air

clean.

Enter “Filter Status" or “Is filter change

needed?” to check when the filter needs to be

changed. Tap on the link to go to the LG

Smart AC App.

You can activate functions for situations such

as leaving home, coming home, sleep, or

party at once.

Enter ”Settings“ to set functions for Master

Control.

① Select „Master Control‟. ② Select mode.

③ Switch the product of your choice

to ON and select functions.

Enter ”Leaving home", “Coming home", ”Sleep “, or “Party” after setting Master Control settings to

activate the functions you set.

Enter “My Products“ to change settings or to see the

status of your products in detail.

Tap on the link provided to go to the My Products

page.

You can change nicknames, view status,

go to product location settings, view

manuals, and view mutual users by

selecting the product.

Enter “Settings” for notification settings,

smart functions settings, and service

settings.

Tap the link provided to go to the settings

page.

If you want to stop using HomeChat service, enter "Terminate Service" in your HomeChat

conversations for Service Termination page and information.

You can delete HomeChat from Messenger Friends list from the messenger settings.

② Please read the service
