PROGRAMMING THE MACRO KEYS
The Cinema 7has two Macro keys (MACRO andMACRO2)that allow the user to play back a series of keystrokes, atany time, with the press of one key. For example, to set up asequence that will turn on your components and change thecomponents to the proper inputs:1. Press and hold MAGIC until the Cinema 7s
red light blinks twice, then releaseMAGIC.
2. Press 9 - 9 - 5 . The Cinema 7s red light willblink twice.
3. Press and release one of the MACRO keys.This will be the key that will play back theseries of keystrokes assigned to that key.
4. Begin entering the sequence of keystrokes, upto 15, that you wish to be played back whenyou press the MACRO key. For example:
RCVR + POWER + TV + POWER + TV/VCR(To change the input on the TV to VIDEO 1) +CBL/SAT + POWER.
5. Once your sequence is entered, press andhold MAGIC until the Cinema 7s red lightblinks twice.
Now, using the example above, whenever the programmedMACRO key is pressed, the Receiver would power ON, theTV will power ON and change the input to VIDEO 1 andthen the Satellite would power ON.Repeat steps 1 - 5 to then setup a second sequence ontheMACRO2 key.
VOLUME LOCK
Volume Lock allows the user to designate which compo-nent will control the volume in the TV, DVD/LDandCBL/SATmodes. To set the Volume Lock to the TV mode:1. Press and hold MAGIC until the Cinema 7s
red light blinks twice, then releaseMAGIC.
2. Press 9 - 9 - 3 . The Cinema 7s red light willblink twice.
3. Press and release TV. The Cinema 7s red lightwill blink twice.
Now, whenever you pressVOLv, VOLwor MUTE in theVCR, DVD/LDand CBL/SATmodes your TV will controlthe volume. If you would like to change the Volume Locksetting to theVCR, DVD/LDor CBL/SATmodes repeatsteps 1-3, only substitute the appropriate device key.Setting the Volume Lock to the TV, VCR, DVD/LD or CBL/SATmode will not effect the volume control in the RCVR,AUX and CDmode.You can also change the Volume Lock setting so that anAudio component controls the volume in all device modes.To change the Volume Lock setting on the Cinema 7to theRCVR orAUX mode:1. Press and hold MAGIC until the Cinema 7s
red light blinks twice, then release
MAGIC.

Now, whenever you pressVOLv, VOLworMUTEyourAudio component will control the volume in all devicemodes.You can also change the Volume Lock setting so that eachcomponent controls its own volume. However, somecomponents do not have volume control. Using this settingmay eliminate volume control in some device modes. Tochange the Volume Lock setting on the Cinema 7so eachmode controls its own volume:1. Press and hold MAGIC until the Cinema 7s

2. Press 9 - 9 - 3 . The Cinema 7s red light willblink twice.
3. Press and release VOLv. The Cinema 7s redlight will blink twice.
Now, whenever you pressVOLv, VOLworMUTE on theCinema 7each component will control its own volume,provided each component has volume control.
USING THE SLEEP KEY
The SLEEP key allows you to access the sleep timer ofyour TV, Cable Converter/DBS Satellite or Audio compo-nent. You can access your TV, Cable Converter, DBSSatellite or Audio components Sleep Timer by pressing
the SLEEP key. Most Sleep Timers advance in incrementsof 10 or 15 minutes, however, for specific instructions onsetting your components Sleep Timer, please consult youroriginal owners manual.Even if your original Cable Converter remote control didnot have a sleep timer, your Cinema 7has its own built-insleep timer. If your Cable Converter does not have a sleeptimer, press theSLEEP key to activate the Cinema 7sbuilt-in sleep timer. For example:
1. Press and release the CBL/SAT key then pressthe SLEEP key once to set the Cinema 7s built-in sleep timer for 15 minutes. The red light willblink once.
2. Each additional press of the SLEEP key will add15 more minutes to the Sleep Timer, up to amaximum of 60 minutes. The LED will blinktwice when the sleep timer is set for 30 minutes,3 times for 40 minutes, or 4 times for 60minutes.
NOTE:The sleep timer starts 10 seconds after the lastpress of theSLEEPkey.Once you have activated theCinema 7s built-in sleep timer, you must keep the remotecontrol aimed directly at the component.
3. To de-activate the built-in sleep timer, pressPOWER.
NOTE:Plugging your TV into the outlet on the back of theCable Converter may allow you to turn both your CableConverter and your TV ON and OFF.

Replace the batteries with four(4) new AAAalkaline batteries.
Try all of the codes listed for yourbrand of home entertainmentcomponent in the Setup Codessection. Many setup codes mayallow for partial functionality,however, only one setup codewill operate your home entertain-ment component correctly. Makesure that all of the compo-nents you are setting up canbe operated with an infraredremote control.
Try all of the codes listed for yourbrand of home entertainmentcomponent in the Set-UpCodes section. Many set-upcodes may allow some degree ofoperation. However, only oneset-up code will work correctlywith your home entertainmentcomponent.
Try the VCR set-up codes foryour brand. However, somecombo units may require both aTV code for volume control anda VCR code for the remainingfunctions.
As a safety feature on theCinema 7, you must press theREC key twice.
Due to RCA design (1983-1987),only the original remote controlwill operate these functions.
If your original remote controlrequired an Enter keystrokewhen changing channels, pressthe ENTER key on the Cinema 7after you enter the channelnumber.
Make sure you are aiming yourCinema 7at your home enter-tainment component and thatyou are within 15 feet beforeusing your remote.
