LISTEN TO OUR CUSTOMERS TO PREPARE FOR WHAT’S NEXTChange! As a manufacturer you’ve been living with change from the outset. Indeed, it may have been change that inspired you and your company to enter the industry and prosper. So let’s be honest, there’s probably not a lot we can teach you about it—which is good, because that’s not our job.

Rather, we’re in the business of making sure you’re as prepared as possible for whatever comes your way, even the unknown. In fact, especially the unknown. Although we’re a software vendor, our primary goal is to provide you with solutions that deliver the business outcomes you desire—so that your customers, too, can achieve their goals and become as satisfied as ours (Over the past 10 years, IFS customers have reported twice the ROI of their competitors).

This booklet is a brief glance at IFS customers from across the manufacturing spectrum. We’ve been sharing our expertise with them for anything from a couple of years to a couple of decades. What they all had in common was the need to cope with change and turn it into opportunity. Now they’re growing, fulfilling their potential, seeing greater opportunities and achieving—even exceeding—their target outcomes.

But enough from us.

Read on to discover how manufacturers are using IFS Applications™ and drawing on IFS expertise in a variety of settings around the globe. And measuring ROI in more than just dollars and cents.

“Our project went well and I think there are two major reasons for that. The quality of IFS Applications is one, proven by the fact that there were no critical problems after go-live. The other is the support we received from experienced IFS staff throughout the project.”

MR. KOJI SAGA, SENIOR MANAGER, SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT DIVISION OF THE SYSTEM PLATFORM BUSINESS UNIT.

With any beta program there will be risks, but we have a lot of confidence in IFS and that allowed us to proceed without concern. The people in R&D at IFS definitely understand the product and they were able to help us understand how and why they did things and we’ll be able to utilize the system better thanks to their knowledge.

JAY GNUSE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR, CHIEF INDUSTRIES

“THE BIGGEST ROI FOR US IS ACCESS TO INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY”Chief Industries has been using IFS Applications for the past 10 years to help it maintain high levels of customer service in a dynamic marketplace. A key benefit of using IFS Applications is the level of flexibility it provides in terms of making unforeseen modifications—mostly resulting from changes in customer demand or aligning new divisions or acquisitions with the rest of the company—to fit business processes.

Working with IFS, Chief Industries gets:

• A team of experts that enable the company to increase customer value

• A highly flexible solution that is easily modified

• An opportunity to shape the end product

• Training opportunities that result in greater understanding

“MOST IMPORTANT? IFS EXPERTS TRULY WANT TO HELP US SOLVE OUR PROBLEMS”

ERP software and expertise from IFS give Jotun:

• More standardized business processes that provide better control, greater efficiency, and enhanced global collaboration

• Global solutions, such as a central database for recipes, to ensure real-time access to relevant information worldwide

• Industry solution that creates conditions for a future-oriented IT strategy

Jotun, a Norwegian chemicals company dealing mainly in decorative paints and performance coatings, has created a strong global brand by focusing on quality, brand management and standardized business processes. IFS Applications has played a major role in the latter. In partnership with Accenture, IFS successfully implemented IFS Applications at Jotun’s Norwegian operations. During the period, Jotun experienced a substantial increase in revenue. More recently, IFS and Jotun have collaborated to develop a standardized package that supports Jotun globally with the relevant legal and best practice business requirements necessary to run its operations in over 100 countries.

This has allowed us to save money and put our resources in the right place, such as our iron and ore material, which could be sitting at one warehouse not being used, and we can move that and utilize it at another warehouse. We’re saving millions of dollars with this one area of our business alone.

DEAN GIBB, VP OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, SHAWCOR

We have a philosophy of partnering with our customers to find solutions that benefit those customers. IFS has a similar approach—they want to be an integral part of our business. Overall, I’m impressed with the network of partnerships that IFS has established. The partners complement IFS’s functionality and expertise nicely, providing a complete solution tailored to our specific requirements. We have seen measurable success in achieving production efficiencies, resolving non-compliance, reducing compliance costs, delivering best practices and knowledge sharing.

I see IFS Applications as the real foundation for the business. Without making this change we would be unable to move forward with the business. If we are not progressing as a business, we are failing to prepare the company for its second century in business. It’s partners like IFS that are really that fundamental to our growth and future for the next 100 or 200 years. We looked for a solution that could handle manufacturing, sales, spare parts. Actually, IFS Applications was the only system I felt could do this out of the box.
