TRANSCRIPT
Export Attribute Data
Map Milwaukee: Property Information allows you to quickly access property information. You can also export the
tabular information associated with properties (called attribute data) in a format that can be opened as a
spreadsheet.
These instructions take you through the specific process of acquiring property information. This process can also
be applied to any operational layer in any of the Map Milwaukee applications; this includes layers you may add
from other map services. For example, this process can also be used to pull Census 2010 data from Map
Milwaukee: Census 2010, or collect information about historic sites from the Special_Districts map service.

3. From the Analysis tab of the advanced toolbar, click the Identify tool of your choice. For more detailed
information about how to use the Identify tools, refer to the Identify Tools Help.
1. In the map, zoom in so you
can see your parcel(s) of
interest.
2. Open the advanced toolbar
by clicking the tool icon at the
upper-right corner of the map
or from the “I want to…” menu.
Note: The Identify tools provide one method of acquiring attribute data. The Simple Query and Advanced Query tools
and search function also return attribute data.
4. On the map, identify your
parcel(s) of interest.
This image illustrates the use of
the Polygon Identify tool.
Once you’ve identified your parcel(s) of interest, you will
see a Results List to the left of the map. The Results List
will display a row for each taxkey found by the Identify
tool (one condominium parcel will return multiple rows).
The number of taxkeys found is shown in parentheses at
the top of the Results List. For more information about
working with the Results List, refer to the Results List Help.
5. By default, your results are displayed as a list. Above
the list, click Table View.
Note: Identify, query, and search results are limited to
1,000 records.

Data can be sorted by column values by clicking on the
appropriate column header.
Columns can be reordered by clicking and dragging
column headers to the desired position.
6. Above the table, click Export to CSV and choose where
you want to store your file.
7. Once saved, you can open the CSV file with
spreadsheet software, like Microsoft Excel.
Note: Changes made to the table in Map Milwaukee, like
column sorts or column reordering, are not reflected in
the exported CSV file.
