Mr. Stephen Ehrens, CPA and Wealth Advisor from Northwestern Mutual will discuss Estate planning considerations, Special Needs Trusts, Wills and benefits, i.e. SSI, Medicaid, insurance and investments. “ABLE Accounts” which will provide a tax sheltered vehicle for your child, was recently signed into law and will be discussed along with the new changes in tax law.

B) Non-College Credential Programming for Success - Bollinger Conference Room Miss Jennifer Scully, Assistant Head of School for Postsecondary Studies and current ICCS students, Chad Solomon, Dara Helfant, Jessica Lerman, Sarah Diamond, and Dominica Troiano, will discuss the different credential programs available for study within the postsecondary program and the National Work Readiness Credential. C) Success Stories from Alumni & Current ICCS Students: College Track - Room #10

Sarah Rabbitt-Class of ‘14/15 and Jonathan Newler-Class of ‘98/99 along with current ICCS students Wrenn Vieth and Will Tabbicca will share candid personal stories of how they have navigated the college world and the lessons they have learned along the way.

D) Success Stories from Employers - Room #9 Mr. John Tomasetti, Asst. Dean of Men and Director of Experiential Learning along with local business owners that provide vocational internships for our young adults in the postsecondary program, share their experiences and what they expect as an employer. How parents can work with their children to prepare them to be gainfully employed will also be discussed.

Current ICCS students Will Singer, Jenna Buchholz, and Ellie McGarry will also share their experiences in the non-college track. D) The Parent Role in Student Success in Transitioning to ICCS: Parent Panel - Bollinger Conference Room Parents of former high school students will share advice and experiences that can help your son/daughter transition successfully to ICCS or other programs after MBS. Participants include: Mr. David Lerman, Ms. Judi Helfant, Mr. David McGarry, Ms. Sally Schweitzer and Mrs. Roxanne Troiano.

12:00 Noon Lunch and Keynote Address - Whalen Hall Mr. David Kirshner, Parent of Kyle—Class of ‘05/’08 from Westport, CT will discuss his son’s journey since he first arrived at MBS and the necessary steps to support his living and independent life. 1:30 PM- A) College Programming for Students with Learning Challenges: Room #11 Linda Bertolozzi, Director of the Office of Accommodative Services at Dutchess Community College and Mrs. Anne Arent, NCI Director will talk about their expectations for students in college and what type of support services are provided and what isn’t. Head of School for Postsecondary Studies and Mrs. Roxanne Troiano, ICCS Parent, will highlight all of the funding options within MBS that can help parents with tuition. The discussion will also include the impact of claiming medical deductions and how the new tax laws will enable the use of 529 plans and possible Title IV funding for higher education in the future. 3:00 PM- Synthesis Session 4:00 PM- Wine and Cheese Reception in Whalen Hall - Main Campus Tours of the Institute for Collegiate and Career Studies and TLC Programs (Sign Up Required)
