From NT’s Desk to WWW

It’s all contexts out there

The WWW world is huge and information available out there is all context based. The context is what we look for and what we search.

When it comes to “resumes” (people profile), the context varies based on the Skills, Experience, Qualifications, Summary of

Achievements, Designations, Recommendation, Social Media Data.. etc.. the data available out there is a OCEAN.

I had an opportunity to work on a research product which used “Inxight” tools to quickly categorize and show the snapshot to the end-

user. The end-user could be CIO, CEO, HR, PM, Developer.. etc..

Designed and Developed Resume Parsing

As I mentioned earlier about the WWW the one more area and the context is more prominent is Resumes. Many recruiters/ HR

Department out there, till today find it difficult to arrive to the state of so called “Shortlisted Resumes”.

Many of the applicants too find it difficult to pursue the new jobs for the reasons like they have to login and apply to different sites

and the same data is entered and same questions are asked.

At some stage the information just hides behind the scene and sometimes the most eligible applicant is left out or not chosen because

of the entire context is missing as the selection/ short listing till today happens by opening the resume, going through the resume and

match requirement against the resume.

At the end, there is no comparison or the complete context map goes missing.

How could this be addressed?

How best the technology will help us?

I would say, there was a technology and there was a proof of concept made to address the some aspects of the above mentioned

challenge.

The proof of concept made to deliver and address the challenge

And what more is done?

Yes. The solution is out there. The categorization and Navigation is designed but are we done yet? Not really, we have not addressed

the one more challenge i.e. how do we find a SIMILAR resume? HR and Recruiters often face the issue whether it was the same

resume which they viewed couple of weeks/ months ago? Yes! It could be the scenario.

The API’s of Inxight allow finding the similar document based on the facts. The facts are designed in a tool called “factfinder” and

the result is as shown below:

Here! The “Duplicate” resume

The Duplicate resumes are highlighted in red colour.

Conclusion

I know, it is a difficult to create a WIN-WIN situation for all the stake holders in the recruitment, but the option to bring all the

stake holders to discussion table can be achieved with the above mentioned solution.

There you go... again...job hunting...or... recruiting.
