Mar Del Plata

Introduction• Mar del plata is an important touristic city

in Argentina. It’s located in Argentina’s centre. It has a lot of places to visit. If you want to travel to “La Feliz”, you should visit the city in summer, where you can enjoy the beaches at top. Also you shouldn’t forget to visit the Cathedral, Sierra de los Padres, Guemes Street and Mar del Plata’s Harbor. There are some Festivals where you can have a lot of fun!

Places to visit!• As we’ve said before, the city has many places to

visit. Here are some pictures of some of the touristic attractions that the city has:

Cathedral• This church was built in

1893 by Pedro Benoit. The original name was Saint Peter’s church, but finally it turned into “Peter and Cecilia’s church”. It’s a national patrimony too!

Guemes Street• This street has 10 blocks full of

shops. You can buy EVERYTHING you need there. People who wants to get a nice souvenir from the city MUST go to Guemes. There’s a park there, called “Plaza del agua”. In this park you can enjoy beautiful shows in summer’s nights.

Mar del Plata’s Harbor• Mar del Plata is better known by it’s

huge port. There’s a food court, where you can eat the best fish you could ever taste. You can visit the sea lions too! They are a bit stinky, but they are something you can’t miss!

Sierra de los Padres

If you want to see Mar del Plata’s country side, you should visit this neighborhood. Surrounded by farms and nature, Sierra de los Padres is a lovely place to visit and have a good time with family.

Beaches• Mar del Plata’s beaches are the

most important touristic attraction. Over three million persons (local and tourists) visit them and enjoy summer’s sunny days. Don’t forget your sunscreen!

Mar del Plata Nights• Fun never stops in Mar del Plata! Have dinner in a restaurant near the

coast. Go for a walk under the starry sky. And if it’s not enough and you’re young, go with your friends to Alem or Constitucion Nightclubs! Meet hundred and hundred of young people in Mar del Plata’s night!

Festivals• Two of the most important

festivals in Mar del Plata are “Fisherman’s Festival” and “National Sea Festival”. Both festivals take place in summer. In the first one, people choose “The Fisherman’s Queen”.Usually, young people around 20 years old get listed to be the sovereign. In the second one, people must choose a Queen and a Princess in a beauty contest. Those who are chosen have an exclusive entrance to provincial parties. This parties have place ONCE a year.
