HINDU SOCIETY - SPRING NEWSLETTER - 2021

Hindu Society inform the death of Mr. Mohinder Berry. He was a long-time member of the Society, and served as a member of the Executive Committee and Secretary for a time also. . He was 85 years old, and leaves behind his wife Lata, four children and eleven grandchildren. The Society will sadly miss this great loss.

OBITUARIES

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Mrs Urmil Kanta Bhuchar pased away on 19 December 2020.

Urmilji has been a member of the Hindu society for over 45 years - she was one of the original members when the Society started in the 1970s with only a few families in Tooting Milan Centre. She was married to the late Yogesh Kumar Bhuchar who held both the Secretary and President posts and later became a trustee of the society. Both Mr & Mrs Bhuchar were instrumental in helping the society to grow into the organisation that it is now.

Urmilji was a valued member of the society, always ready to participate in all the functions over the years. She was proud that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren also visited the society with her and enjoyed joining in with the various celebrations that took place. In the past few years, she was particularly keen to read at the annual Akhand ramayan in May and did also read during the Zoom Ramayan last year. She enjoyed coming to the club on Thursdays to play bingo and made many good lifelong friends at the Society.

We have many fond memories of Urmilji and she will be dearly missed by us all.

MANDIR FUND RAISING APPEALThis development will provide a facility for devotees to worship on a regular daily basis at the Mandir. It goes without saying that future generations stand to benefit from the presence of a sacred Mandir.

Of course, good work of this magnitude can only be done with substantial investment. With this in mind, I humbly request

monthly contributions to realise our long-cherished goal.

Over and above this, if you are able to provide any form of support to our project, you are more than welcome to do so. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite you to attend Hindu Society events. I look forward to your response and thank you in advance for your kind donations.
