St. Philip makes a special effort to have Church School classes designed for every age group. Church School is from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. most Sundays. We have many exciting offerings for you to choose from this month.

Children & Youth

Birth-Age 2 children will hear Bible stories that are designed for young learners. Room 18

Ages 2-Pre K are studying “Zacchaeus” from the Hands On Bible curriculum. Room 4

Ages K-2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grade are using the Growing with Grace and Gratitude curriculum, which is rooted in the foundation of Presbyterian identity where God's grace and our gratitude are the heartbeat of our faith, life, and worship; which extends an invitation to discipleship that inspires children to learn and practice hospitality, generosity, and love; and which reaches beyond Sunday morning, encouraging children to live their lives as an expression of God's grace. Ages K-2nd grade begin in Room 10 and move to Room 7. 3rd-5th grade begin in Room 10 and move to Room 8.

6th-8th grade and 9th-12th grade will be using Feasting on the Word, which provides opportunities for this age group to explore their personal and communal identity in Jesus Christ through meaningful community-building experiences, engaging Bible study, and relevant learning activities. Biblical stories will come alive in new and creative ways. In response to God's amazing, unconditional love, youth will be challenged to put their faith into action as they grow to understand themselves as Christ's disciples. 6th-8th grade meet in The Loft. 9th-12th meet in the Youth Hall.

Adults The Joy Class is for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We combine instruction, music and crafts to teach adults the basics of the Christian faith. This class uses shared leadership and is studying compassion. Parlor

In March the Alpha Class is using the Present Word and will study March 6, Powerful Faith Mark 9:14-29; March 13, Simple Faith Mark 10:17-31; March 20, Struggling Faith Mark 14:26-31, 66-72; March 27, Resurrection Faith Mark 16:1-8 Room A

In March the Feasting on the Word Class will be studying the following topics: March 6, Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32; will explore God’s unbounded love and mercy as described & will commit to embracing God’s wayward children; March 13, John 12:1-8, will ponder the extravagance of Mary of Bethany’s & Jesus’ gifts and dedicate their lives to service; March 20, Luke 19:28-40; 23:1-49, will consider the meaning of Jesus’ kingship & reaffirm their commitment to his kingdom; March 27, Luke 24:1-12, will retell the story of the empty tomb & creatively ex-press the Good News. Class led by Patty O’Brien. Room 11

A Year with the Bible meets the first Sunday of each month following Morning Worship to encourage daily Bible reading and prayer. Fellowship Hall

Men’s Coffee Fellowship meets each Wednesday morning, 8:30-9:30 a.m. for coffee & donuts, visiting, discussing and staying connected. Led by Rev. Dr. Greg Garis. Parlor
