Uncle Sam Smoking Tobacco 2 inches x 4 inches

“Uncle Sam on a Canadian tin? Astounding as this may seem to collectors on both sides of the border, the Dominion Tobacco Co. of Montreal put this tin out between 1910 and 1915. There were a number of Canadian tins produced in the 1910 to 1925 period that had distinctly American themes: Old Glory, Chicago Cubs, Seal of North Carolina, Old Virginia, Puritan, and American Navy. A logical assumption seems to be that the Americans were very much in favour at that time and any association with things American would help the sale of the product. There are only two Uncle Sam tins known to exist”.

A glow in-the-dark ball. Is it uranium?

No, it’s from a game.

In Memoriam:

On behalf of the club membership, we wish to express our sincere sympathy to

The family and friends of Carmen Rose Emmott (Barbeau). Carmen passed away January 21, 2018 in Vancouver, BC. “She chose to succumb to terminal cancer on her own terms.” She was 68.

A Celebration of Her Life was held February 16 at the Robertson Wesley United Church, Edmonton, AB. Several WRAC members attended.

Club members tell me that Carmen had wonderful collections of solid-handled teacups and walking ware.
