MISSIONARY GLEANINGS SHARING HOPE IN TIMES OF CRISIS
One of the crises of the U.S.A. in the 21st century was what happened on 9/11. It prompted the late Dr. Billy Graham
to instruct his staff to develop a rapid response to emotional and spiritual crises during the everyday tragedies of life.
The Rapid Response Team Ministry was launched. Today it is in U.S.A., Canada, UK, and Australia. It is based on
Psalm 147:3.
Volunteer chaplains are trained at on-site locations. Saturday, May 23 a Rapid Response Seminar will be held at
Pinecrest Baptist Church. The cost is $45 and includes materials and lunch on premises. However, if enrollment
exceeds capacity (384), participants will be permitted to grab lunch at nearby restaurants.
Rev. Reggie Hester is the lead contact for BGEA Rapid Response Seminar. Rev. Tom Potter is the coordinator for
the PBA. BGEA can be reached at 1-877-247-2426. Charlotte NC local 1-704-401-2432.
CHRISTOPHER NEWPORT UNIVERSITY PRESIDENT KEYNOTE SPEAKER MARCH 19 AT THE
MARINERS MUSEUM, NEWPORT NEWS
Paul Trible was a U.S. Senator in the 1980’s before he accepted the presidency of CNU in the 1990’s. I know of no
one who could have made such a metamorphosis of a small college in only a quarter of a century. He is a visionary
extraordinaire.
On Thursday, March 19 he will lead a conference “Exploring Revolutionary Civility.” It is an effort to change our
culture and model Christian Grace.
The cost is, $49 for BGAV church members and $79 for all others. Space is limited. Contact Dr. Brian Williams,
BGAV Field Strategist. Email: [email protected]
