From the desk of
Fr. Burns
Dear Family,
As you read these words we are officially entering
into Holy Week. The word holy means set apart for
God’s use. There is only one week that we declare as
Holy Week and it is this one. This means that each one of us, as we are able, should
seek to make this week look different than any other
week. We do this for the simple and yet profound
reason that this is the time when Jesus gave himself
over to be falsely accused, beaten, humiliated and
crucified. All the sins of humanity were thrust upon him
and the suffering that he endured goes beyond our
comprehension. It was He who saved us and made a
way for us to have hope in a fallen world.
Let us each seek to truly make this week holy. Even in
our day to day work, routines and recreation we can
turn with our hearts to our Lord Jesus. Pause frequently
during your day to thank him for his sacrifice. Seek to
meditate on his amazing gift of love and mercy. Seek
to give this love and mercy to others.
In the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
Fr. Dusty Burns
