• On April 1st 1976 Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne established Apple, and in July of that year the first Apple computer went on sale for $666.66...

• This morning we are going look at the computers and devices that Apple make and sell today in 2012. This slideshow was created with Keynote, an Apple software program similar to Powerpoint.

The iMac family are the cream of the crop when it comes to Apple desktop computers.

• Top of the pile is this all singing all dancing 27” monster which will set you back a cool €1829 !

• It has a whopping 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, built-in form factor (internals are built behind the screen).

• It has the software suites iWork and iLife installed as standard.

• Wireless Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

MacBooks.• MacBooks are

the entry level for many into the Apple way of computing and though they are considerably more expensive than “normal” laptops, the reputation and reliability of these little gems ensures they sell in their millions every year.

The MacBook AirThe MacBook Air was first unveiled in 2008 and is a first in that it has a solid state hard drive as opposed to the more traditional disc based models. What that means is that the Air notebook is extremely light and is less prone to HDD failure due to no moving parts in the storage department.

Mac MiniThe Mac Mini retails for around €700 but does not come with a monitor. A lot of people use it as a media streamer/server, connecting it directly to their TV and viewing content directly from the Internet or from another Apple computer elsewhere in the home. This device came on-stream in 2005.

Ipods

•From the tiny Shuffle which holds 500 songs to the iPod Classic which can handle 40,000 songs, there is sure to be one to suit.

The iPad•An overgrown iPod Touch?

•Not at all, The iPad can surf the Web, is touch screen and can do most computing tasks.

•It is fast becoming the most sought after gadget in the world.

iPhoneEssentially the same as an iPod Touch...but it makes phone calls!

•I like Apple computers...I think they are far easier to use, last longer, are free of virus attacks...the downside for many is the initial cost of buying into the Apple Way of doing things.
