Karen Weiler of Posh Pets Photography (poshpetsphoto.com) is a contemporary fine art pet photographer who specializes in custom portrait sessions. She will share her experience in how she creates lasting artwork for her clients and what goes into creating the perfect image. She makes her home in Toronto with her husband and their two rescue cats, Baxter and Panda, but travels extensively photographing the people, places and pets of the world. Pat Zuest, Phip Weigand, Peter Alberti and Ann Alimi March 17, 2016 Talking Photography Roundtable: An Evening With A Few of Toronto Camera Club’s Best Photographers Four of Toronto Camera Club’s senior, award-winning photographers will participate in a moderated roundtable discussion on a wide range of topics, such as: why we take pictures; the impact photography has on society; the participants’ best learning experiences/ opportunities; photographers who influenced their work; the genres of photography which interest them most; thoughts on the contemporary trends in photography; etc. Images made by the panel of speakers will be shown throughout the evening, as well. Ariel Estulin and Louis Au March 31, 2016 Travel in Nepal: Yaks, Mountains and Monasteries Wedged between the Himalayan range to the north and the jungles to the south, Nepal’s cultural landscape is as diverse as its physical one. Its people’s religious practices range from Indian-style Hinduism to Tibetan Buddhism. This presentation begins in the chaotic city of Kathmandu and continues into the high Himalayas - a photographic journey of centuries-old stupas and temples and the spectacular vistas of the Himalayas. “Photography for me is about awe in our world brought to us through nature…”, says Ariel Estulin. Louis Au states: “I am passionate about seeing the culturally diverse world through the lens of my camera while capturing stories at 1/125th of a second.” He is the founder of the f11 project.

than in person; therefore architects count on photographers to translate their design and execution into two dimensions. Ben’s illustrated talk will focus on the unique nature of architectural photography, and some of its more technical aspects. He will also be providing a demonstration of some of his specialized equipment.

What we choose to photograph says something about us, intentional or not. This talk will help you discover the themes in your work and you will learn how to enrich your visual journey. In addition, Anton Pickard will demonstrate restoration and archival techniques, that he has developed, which combine analog and digital media. Anton is a full-time professor in the Digital Photography and Imaging diploma program at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario.

Andrew Maidanik November 5, 2015Food Photography

Andrew Maidanik is a Toronto based portrait and travel photographer specializing in classic portraiture, as well as corporate, fashion, wedding and food photography. Andrew’s works have been published in photography textbooks, magazines and newspapers including ELLE, L’Oficiel, PRO FOTO and Globe & Mail. In 2011, Andrew founded ProPhoto Academy, where he gives masterclasses,

workshops and private classes. He also teaches photojournalism and digital photography at Sheridan College. Andrew will talk about studio setup and how to make great “foodies” with minimum equipment.

Johan Hallberg-Campbell January 7, 2016Documentary Photography: One Photographer’s Approach to StorytellingJohan Hallberg-Campbell was born in Scotland and has lived and worked in Canada since 2007. As a freelance photographer, he has worked for numerous publications and institutions worldwide, shooting assignments globally. His commissioned and personal work has been published and exhibited internationally. As a freelance Curator, he has curated 45 photographic exhibitions in galleries in New York and Toronto, and is a contributing photo editor at Raw View magazine. Johan will talk about his approach to storytelling, discuss the connection from personal to commissioned work and show his own projects as reference.

As a staff photographer for National Geographic magazine for over 15 years, Bob Madden produced the photographs for more than twenty stories and several National Geographic books. Travels across all seven continents exposed him to an extraordinary diversity of cultures and customs. He has a long list of awards for his photography. In addition to showing his images, Mr. Madden will discuss the destruction of traditional

media and the rise of social applications. He will explore the freelance experience including branding, analytical tools and social media strategies.

Michael Fraser October 1, 2015The Past, Present and Future of Street Photography: Finding Meaning in the MundaneMichael Fraser is a fine art photographer, specializing in street photography. Working exclusively on analog film, Michael’s street photography largely eschews the traditional ‘Decisive Moment’ approach for a more atmospheric aesthetic, characterized by an often dramatic interplay between light, shadow, subject, and city. In this lecture, he will explore the rich history of street photography and will also discuss his own approach to street photography, with particular focus on his integration of traditional and modern methods, and on his approach to unique situations on the street.

Heidi’s work is featured internationally in private collections, galleries, magazines, and through the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs in embassies around the world. She is known as “The Recycling Lady” and the journey of how she got here is the story that she wants to tell through her images.
