the goal for the salt flats project was to create a space for a small existential journal to be produced. the site was on the foothills of the silver island mountains, which boarder the salt flats. the program provides a space for a writer, photographer, graphic designer, and area for observation. the idea was to create something out of the study of nothing. i developed my design by taking the individual elements and

the evanston roundhouse was built in 1912 and in 1926 was shut down. it passed from hand to hand with various uses only to be left abandoned in 1998. in cooperation with the town, the university used this opportunity for an adaptive reuse project. in a group of two we were given one bay and a eatery as a design problem. with a brewpub in mind we exposed all of the mechanics of the pub and let the piping dictate how the spaces were divided, both in plan and section, keeping the industrial feel

culinary school used a traditional kit of parts aproach in solving the difficult design problem of establishing a communinity for students which would foster learning and cooperation, while allowing opportunities to become part of the greater community of seattle through reaching out to multilple demographics, and provding a safe and nurting learning environment. using the gardens the

an airport is a locus of
movement, yet we intuitively

the warm springs community center is an adaptive reuse project using the historic warm springs plung building. while the program was set to accomadate a branch of the salt lake library , what the neighborhood truely desired was a community space that was as diverse as the neighborhood which housed it. using the capitol as refernce and reminder of the dialect and
