THU, 24 FEB - SUN, 6 MARCARNIVALCarnival is a ten-day period of fun and eating, prior to fifty days of fasting, beforeEaster. During the first week called Meat Week, it is allowed to eat meat, whereasduring the second week known as Cheese Week, only cheese and other dairyproducts are consumed. LARNAKA LOVE BUS CITY SIGHTSEEINGOpen-air Double-decker Bus Starts Routes in Larnaka. An open-air double-decker bus company has commenced tours in Larnaka offeringtourists the opportunity to see the bustling city.Tours on the ‘Love Bus’ operate five times a day (from morning till evening), andtake in various sites of interest within the city, including the old aqueduct ofKamares, the Hala Soultan Mosque in Tekke, the ancient harbour of Kition and theMedieval Castle. Starting point: Palm-tree lined promenade ‘Phinikoudes’ (along Athens Avenue)and lasts one hour. LARNAKA CITY CRUISESTourists and locals alike can view the sights of Larnaka from different angle withthe introduction of bike tours, going by the name ‘City Cruises’. The specialpassenger bikes - which look a little like buggy carts with pedals - are alreadypopular in other European destinations where riders (with very strong legs!) cyclewith their passengers in the back enjoying the sights.
