15.Should you be elected, what are three specific areas youd like to change, address, improve orfurther research, and how specifically would you go about it?

    a) In North Ridgeville we must make computer technology a priority at every grade. Outstudents must not be left behind both in the country and world. We cant settle for following

along, we must lead the way. We will need to adapt our learning practices to current technology

while always remaining forward thinking and by adapting to ever changing technological

advances. We need to teach our kids, at every grade how to use our smart phones, tablets andcomputers as learning tools. Given the high cost of computer hardware and how quickly it

becomes obsolete, we must make it possible for students to bring their own devices to school and

connect to the technological tools we put in place both in the classroom and from home. With

the right technology in place we can give new meaning to distance learning by giving kids the

opportunity to stay connected to their school, their teachers, and their classmates from home.

    b) The role of classroom teacher has changed. Teachers are now asked to do more with lessresources than theyve ever had in the past. Class sizes are larger. Responsibilities are greater,

we expect them to act as agents of the health department, police department, and child services.

The pressures on teachers is at an all-time high. As a Board of Education member I will work tomake sure our teachers get the support they need to help all students meet or exceed student

    expectations at every grade.

    c) We must improve and expand our curriculum so that our kids are prepared and ready to

compete whether their choice is to enter the job market or go on to college after graduating.Money is tight for everyone, however there are no academic programs which can be cut; if

anything, there are some which we must either add or expand to make certain North Ridgeville

students remain competitive. Our residents passed a much needed levy last year. In light of this,we will have to make up the deficit created by State cuts in school funding by carefully

reviewing and reallocating our resources to make up the shortfall without cutting academic

programming. Our schools are facing the same problem as our seniors, namely to manage and to

maintain our standard of living on a fixed budget in the face of ever rising costs. This is not ajob for the faint of heart; it will be difficult, but not impossible, and Im up for the challenge.

16.Whether for past accomplishments or future goals, why should voters elect you?

The voters need to elect me to the School Board because the time for change is way past due.

We can no longer accept the status quo as our standard. If we continue to say, this is how its

been, this is how it is, and this is how it will be, then the rest of the world will not only pass usby, but well be crushed as it rolls over us and leaves the leftovers for our kids in their wake.

Im an individual that takes action, I speak my mind, and Im honest and upfront. I believe in

North Ridgeville, I believe in our schools, and I believe in our kids. Most importantly, Ivestepped up and Im ready for the challenges ahead.
