• Rhynchophorus palmarum, palm weevil

• About 100,000 visitors every year
• International, national and local attendees
• “Don’t Pack a Pest” was the major theme
• Many attendees stopped to look at display materials
• Booth was cooperatively manned throughout the show
by personnel from both FDACS and USDA
Looking Forward
• Personnel and resources in the Marinas and Canals
survey will be reallocated where appropriate into the
High Risk Inspection and Interdiction Stations surveys.
• Surveyors will conduct import and follow up inspections
to aid the High Risk Inspection and Interdiction Station
surveys.
