Aquabiotech will be dispelling myths aboutmarine biology by offering innovative andintensive courses in marine biology this summer,
spread over three afternoons. The course will be run ondifferent dates this summer, between June and August.The courses are ideal for foreign students visiting theislands to learn English, as well as tourists and Maltese. The first two course dates will be dedicated to lectures
People are becoming ever more fascinated bymarine biology. The intrigue and fascinationgenerated by marine phenomena andcharismatic species is growing.
Biology (eight hours in total) covering subjects such as thefeatures of the Mediterranean, major coastal andmarine habitats and species within the Basin, as wellas human impact on the marine environment andconservation strategies (including Marine ProtectedAreas). The third afternoon will be dedicated to fieldexperience, with participants opting for either SCUBAdiving or snorkelling sessions. Non-divers can opt fora PADI-certified SCUBA introductory course, withfull-face underwater communication technology beingused to help exchanges between the lecturer andparticipants. No previous academic or SCUBA divingbackground and knowledge are expected, and thecourses are open to all ages.
