Jesus’ Triumphal Entry
Vs 2 "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, on which no one yet has ever sat; untie it and bring it here.”
Vs 3 'The Lord has need of it‘
- His Poverty: • A borrowed donkey.• A borrowed boat.• A borrowed upper room in Jerusalem. • A borrowed tomb.
‘...immediately he will send it back here.’
- His Omniscience
- His Authority
Jesus’ commandment is His enablement.
Other things that were used to accomplish God’s purposes:
- A staff- A sling - A jawbone of a donkey - A house - A boat - A boy’s lunch- A jar of ointment
Vs 4 “And they... found a colt tied...”
Is there a “colt” in your life that God wants to use?
- A spiritual gift. - A talent. - A possession. - A time commitment.
What did Jesus communicate when He rode into Jerusalem?
1) He fulfilled a Messianic prophecy in Zechariah 9:9. “Behold, your King is coming to you, gentle, and mounted on a donkey, even on a colt...”
2) He openly declared Himself to be Israel’s King and Messiah. (Daniel 9:26)
3) He challenged the religious leaders. Luke 19:39,40

Vs 9 ..."Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord;
Soon a crowd would be shouting“Crucify Him! Crucify Him!”.
What about the Romans who watched this procession?
Vs 11 “And He entered Jerusalem and came into the temple...”
Malachi 3:1 “...And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple...
