Room Parents Needed!

Dear Parents,

Being a Room Parent is a fun and easy way to be involved with your child’s education. It allows you to get to

know their teacher and the children they learn and play with every day. Helping out with your child’s classroom

is also an easy way to earn service hours.

Each classroom celebrates birthdays in the fall, winter, and spring, as well as parties at Halloween, Christmas

and on Valentine’s Day. Guidelines for each event will be provided.

The Room Parents are also asked to help in recognizing teachers and staff at other times throughout the year

such as their birthdays, Christmas, Teacher Appreciation Week & Parent -Teacher Conferences.

Read below how you can help your child’s class and choose the options that are right for you. Please note:

Parents are invited, but not required, to attend the Christmas party only.

_____ Head Room Parent This parent is responsible for coordinating the snacks and/or activity for each celebration, making sure to adhere to the guidelines provided by the school. They are also responsible for communicating with the Room Parent Helpers. Room Parent Coordinators will provide you with both a schedule of events and guidelines on items to be sent in to make this an easy job!

_____Room Parent Helper Several parents will be chosen to assist the Head Room Parent with organizing the snacks and activities for each celebration.

_____Other Several parents will be chosen to help provide food for Grandparent’s Day and Parent Teacher Conferences (once in the fall and possibly again in the spring) as well as to help recognize teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8, 2020)
