4-H Re-Enrollment for 2013-14
September 1, 2013 marks the beginning of the 2013-2014 year in 4-H. Therefore, every 4-H member will need to go on 4-H Connect
to re-enroll at http://texas4-H.tamu.edu for pre-existing membership and to enroll for new membership for those joining 4-H. The
earliest date to re-enroll/new membership in 4-H is August 1, 2013 for the new 4-H year.
New membership - requires establishing a family profile and entering individuals (adults and kids) to the profile for new membership
on 4-H Connect. No individual is a 4-H member nor any adult is a volunteer member unless they are entered on 4-H Connect. This
data is important for justifying funding for 4-H and Extension programs.
Pre-Existing Membership - means you have established enrollment in 4-H Connect prior to the new year. Re-Enrollment is required as
the federal law states that we have to start each year with no one (or Zero) enrolled. It is the responsibility of the individual (adult or
youth) to update all information on both the family profile and the individual membership in regard to email addresses, address
changes, name changes, etc. If you need help enrolling on 4-H Connect, please contact the Extension Office at (979) 826-7651.
Annual Dues for 4-H - It has been determined that a reduced price annual 4-H dues fee of $20 (compared to the $25 standard dues)
will be charged during the re-enrollment period beginning August 1, 2013 through September 30, 2013. (60 days) The hope is that it
incentivizes families to handle enrollment early in the 4-H year and also gives them a break in price. It is critical that we try to get as
many youth signed up early so that you can take advantage of the savings and so the Extension administration can have the data to
make decisions regarding the success of the new partial cost-recovery plan and its affect on state-wide Extension positions.
Dues can be paid for with credit card only.
Learn more and become a more involved parent in 4-H! The purpose of ALPA is to develop and support vol-
unteer leaders to serve the needs of 4-H members. It’s the Adult Leaders & Parents Association (ALPA) of
Waller County. The next ALPA meeting is scheduled for July 22, 2013 at the Extension Office be-
ginning at 7:00 pm. County 4-H Council meets at the same time as the APLA group. There are leadership
opportunities for all ages!
ADULT LEADERS & PARENTS ASSOCIATION Meeting — open
to All 4-H Leaders/Parents
Individuals with disabilities who require auxiliary aide service or accommodation in order to participate in the event are encouraged
to contact our office within 5 working days prior to the program.

gion, age, or national origin. The Texas A&M University System, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the County Commissioners
Courts of Texas Cooperating.
Registration is now open on 4-H Connect for District 9 4-H Leader College. The cost is $20 per person. The fee applies to all folks
attending. The event will take place at the "new" Royal High school in Brookshire Texas.
We have an excellent speaker line up and the topics should jump start project work in your coun-
ty. We also have an excellent key note presenter: Dr. Dale Fritz, District Extension Director for
District 9.
