MARKERLIGHTS & NAVIGATION SOLUTIONS

The Nordlight assortment includes a range of prod-ucts within marking lights and accessories for mark-ing lights as well as solar panel equipment, light towers, light buoys, GPS-synchronizing, surveillance software and AIS navigation equipment.

All the products in the Nordlight series are especially developed for navigation around and marking of fish farming plants. The products are designed with regard to low service level and long lifetime.

As basis for the development of the Nordlight we considered requirements and rules from IALA and the new restricted regulations from the Norwegian Kyst-verket for marking of marine installations. Moreover, all the products are prepared to face requirements that should eventually arise during the next years.

The Nordlight series is produced by Seafarm Systems where SABIK Finland is the subsupplier of lights. In addition, during the development phase there has been tight co-operation with the most experienced customers inside Norwegian fish farming who con-tributed significantly in order to adjust the products regarding the environment.

Seafarm Systems is an experienced producer of equipment to offshore fish farming, and the enter-prise is active in 22 countries. The company was ini-tially established as a joint venture between a Danish and an Australian company. The enterprise is today fully integrated and has its sales and production network in Europe, Asia, Australia, North and South America.

The sales and production network in Europe is handled by the subsidiary company in Denmark, and areas outside Europe are handled by the parent company in Tasmania.

Seafarm Systems also supplies productes inside; sea cages, net cages, working boats, mooring systems, systems for collecting dead fish, underwater lights, underwater cameras, ROV equipment for cleaning and inspection of net cages. PIB 340 NAVIGATION BUOY

PIB 340 is a sturdy, 1400 mm diameter rotationally moulded polyeth-ylene navigation buoy.

The buoy is divided into two sections, a top section and a bottom section.

Top section is rotationally moulded in 9 mm thick plastic. This section allows injection of foam to prevent accidental sinking.

Top section may be fully integrated with; light, solar cell panels, radar reflector, reflector tape, GPS coordinator, AIS navigation unit, and yellow marker cross .

Top section is mounted with a service closing device for easy access to service and battery change.

Bottom section is rotationally moulded in 15 mm polyethylene plastic and the surface is even treated with a 6 mm reinforcement coating providing superior protection against UV radiation and drainage.

This lightweight buoy is rotationally moulded in standard IALA colours and designed to withstand extremely harsh weather conditions as well as medium ice conditions.

The buoy may be fastened to mooring chain or own concrete block on sea bed.

Advantages for you when using individual buoys:

• You avoid trouble with too small buoys in moorings not designed for tower constructions

• You avoid trouble with destroyed bolts on mooring buoys not designed for fastening of light

• The buoys are very easily put into sea and may be fastened to mooring chain or own concrete block

• All electronics are integrated in top section which can be easily demounted and brought in for service

• No risk of light being destroyed under mooring work

• The buoy is typically placed 10-20 m from existing mooring buoys to facilitate “enclosure” of your area

• The PIB 340 buoy is applicable throughout Norway and is future-proof. In case of AIS or other require-ments, the buoy offers no problems in carrying more equipment such as extra batteries, etc

• The buoy is highly competitive in terms of price and expenses are quickly recovered due to the savings achieved by avoiding demounting and mounting of light on mooring buoys.

TOW92 TOP CONSTRUCTION FOR MARKER LIGHT

Designed for mounting on mooring buoys

TOW92 is a very sturdy 1.75 m high tower construction for mark-er blinkers. The construction is designed for mounting on existing mooring buoys. TOW92 is our most popular tower model, operat-ing in more than 55 localities throughout Norway.

The entire construction offers sturdy dimensioning and is de-signed for Norwegian weather conditions and infrastructure on a sea farm by people with great experience in offshore aquacul-ture constructions.

As illustrated, the tower may be fully integrated with; light, solar cells, radar reflector, reflector tape, GPS synchronisation and AIS navigation. The tower may also be mounted with yellow marker crosses . With total configuration the plant weighs 55 kg.

The construction is supplied with various plinth types tailored to all standard buoy types.

The design of the plinths allows these to be removed from buoys, e.g. for mooring tightening. Various plinth types can even be handled without any tools.

If the tower is mounted with a VP LED light (same light as ap-plied by Kystverket), 2 GP20 solar cells, and 92A 12V battery as illustrated on the right, the plant remains service free for up to 7 years after which battery change is required. Expected service life of the construction, without battery, is minimum 10 years.The configuration above is applicable for localities as high as Trondheim; north of Tronheim, battery and solar cell capacity will be increased.

The tower allows optional injection of foam to prevent the unit from accidental sinking.

All products in the Nordlight series have been developed specif-ically for navigating and marking of Norwegian fish farms. The products have been developed to ensure low service level and long service life.

The Sabik AtoN AIS is a fully compliant AIS (Automatic Identification System) transpon-der that offers a compact remote monitoring and control unit for all types of AtoN´s. The unit is compliant with the IALA Recommendation A-126 (Ed.1 - Dec 2003) for the usage of AIS transponders in Marine Aids to Navigation.

The unit is capable of broadcasting standard AtoN messages as well as telemetry mes-sages from the AtoN station. The AIS message 21 is typically broadcasted every 6 minute (user programmable) and contains also the technical status of the AtoN equip-ment carried in the binary bits. In addition, a dedicated binary data message can be transmitted containing detailed information about the lantern, battery and solar panel performance.

The Sabik AtoN AIS is connected to the lantern serial interface and data is collected from lantern data directly through serial communication. In addition there are 8 digital channels available for monitoring of Racon, fog detectors, door switches, etc. Also auxi-liary meteoroligical sensors can be connected to the available I/O’s.

The messages are collected and presented on the WebSCADA Server using a AIS recei-ver connected to the serial port of the WebSCADA.

Functionality in AtoN

The Sabik AtoN AIS can broadcast standard Msg 21 which can be picked up by any AIS transponder. The binary flags in the message can also be configured to deliver status infor-mation about the station.The telemetry or engineering message is send as a binary Msg 6 or 8, and contains full details about station;

• Status of lantern and photocell• Status and data about power supply (battery and solar panels

as well as charging information)• Status of optional external equipment such as Racon, flood

lights and alarm sensors• Meteorological information if sensors are installed• Hydrographical information if optional sensors are installed

WebSCADA

The Telemetry message delivered by the AtoN AIS is picked up by the WebSCADA remote monitoring and control system and presented in the same way as any Remote Terminal Unit using other communication medias:

• Present data as tables, graphs or on process diagrams• Analyze process data and generate alarm reports• Store historical data in database for later analyze• Compare data in graph format from different stations• Display stations on navigational charts• Present inventory information about site• Access all station and equipment documentation on-line

WebSCADA is accessed using standard Internet browser in the office, at home or on the road. The system is fully user configurable and requires no software programming to make changes in reports, alarms and stored information.
