Authentic World CuisineThe state-of-the-art cultural kitchen at Market Creek Events & Venues is uniquely equipped to create authentic cuisine from around the world. From light lunches and buffets to receptions and large banquets, our skillful culinary team will prepare a menu especially for you. Select from traditional dishes like chicken marsala, citrus-crusted halibut, and filet mignon.

Incorporate cultural fare like Somali sambusas, Samoan sweet bread, and Filipino lumpia. Full beverage service includes spirits, beer, wine, and a selection of cultural and specialty drinks.

Executive Chef Yuri Gorelik brings more than 25 years of culinary experience to our kitchen. His philosophy and passion leads the kitchen staff in creating menus that capture the rich flavors of both traditional and cultural cuisine. Working in partnership with residents from the community, he stays true to the nuances of their culturally distinctive dishes.

Prior to joining Market Creek Events & Venues, Yuri was the banquet chef for the high-profile Turf Club at the Del Mar Racetrack. He trained at The Culinary Arts Institute in Kharkov, Ukraine, and is fluent in English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Spanish.

The kitchen team is focused on providing mouth-watering menus and personal customer service that exceeds industry standards. The team includes community residents and local apprentices mentored by experienced food and hospitality professionals. easy access. These stylish venues can be used alone for intimate groups and smaller events, comfortably seating 350 guests. They are also fully equipped for sets, sound, lighting, and recording options.

The Market Creek Amphitheater is an ideal location for musical and theatrical performances or for creating unforgettable seminars and corporate retreats. This grand, open-air space is accented by a Children’s Art Wall featuring a copper-inlaid tree with hand-painted circular leaves created by more than 1,000 local school children. Tiered grass seating areas make the perfect setting for up to 500 guests to relax or picnic in the shade. Centrally located in Market Creek, the Amphitheater makes an exciting addition for multi-venue use. Adjacent businesses offer food, gifts, souvenirs, and services.

The World Court is an outdoor environment that is excellent for social gatherings, entertainment, and dancing. The 7,450-square-foot venue has seating capacity for up to 500 guests. This space also provides a unique setting and learning experience featuring seven cultural houses. Designed in partnership with a multicultural group of community residents, the houses represent traditional homes in the lands of Laos, Somalia, Sudan, Latin America, the Philippines, and Samoa. The history and traditions of the African-American culture also are spotlighted.

Adjacent to the World Court, Festival Park offers a spacious 19,640-square-foot grassy area, ideal for a variety of children’s parties, sporting events, and team-building activities.

guests. Retractable glass doors expand your options, creating a special indoor-outdoor experience that maximizes the space and takes advantage of the outdoor settings. For smaller meetings, celebrations, and presentations, the venue can be divided into seven separate spaces that can be used together or alone to accommodate your needs.

At Market Creek, It’s Not Business as UsualThe Village at Market Creek is home to Market Creek Events & Venues and the adjacent Market Creek Plaza. These businesses are part of a network of mission- related organizations connected to the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, a non-profit foundation that supports resident ownership of neighborhood change. It is based on the philosophy that residents must own and drive change in their community for it to be meaningful and long-lasting.

From the beginning, these enterprises have been guided by a resident-led collaboration that includes local groups and organizations. Resident teams came together to help develop the cultural kitchen, which provides learning opportunities for future careers in the food and hospitality industries. Residents also led the planning and design of the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center, which is home to some of our venues.

Market Creek Events & Venues serves as a gathering place for the resident teams planning and building The Village at Market Creek. It provides unique venue options for community events and cultural celebrations, fostering social networks, and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Guests are encouraged to share and learn about history, heritage, food, and traditions of people from around the world.
