Market Day My favourite part of market day was selling the raffles! At the time I was selling them I was really petrified.

I went up to the staff and said, “Would you like buy a Christmas raffle ticket for $1.00?” Most of my replies were a great big “YES”. They wrote their number and their name on the raffle slip. The next shop I went to was a dress shop. The lady brought herself 4 tickets and the others bought 2 tickets each. So my time went on by snap! So did my tickets. Then I asked Mr Jones for more. Finally it was 10.30 time to go back to school.

We went back and had a snack. We set up our stalls. My one was Bake sale. At least 5 girls stepped up to help. Then when the marketing time came, we had a lot of customers! I loved giving the change. When my shift was finished I went to buy some food. Like sausage sizzles, jelly oranges, popcorn and more! We bought helium balloons as well. Man! What a day that was!
