INTRODUCTION Mark Zuckerberg is the co-founder of facebook along with his four colleagues Eduardo Saverien, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes.

Born on May 14, 1984 (Age 30) in White Plains, New York .

He is the youngest CEO of Facebook and he himself holds 29.3% shares of Facebook approx.($13.6 billion).

‘Time Magazine’ has awarded Zuckerberg as “Person of the year” and also named among the 100 wealthiest and most influential people in the world.

His dad is a dentist and his mom is a Psychiatrist

Mark can read and write in five different languages including Hebrew, Latin, French, AncientGreek, Chinese.

Mark consider himself as an atheist.

The Co-founder ,CEO & President of Facebook does not care about money. He denied a US$1 billion dollar (Approx. Rs. 4500 Crores) offering to sell Facebook.

After that he explained and quoted that “FACEBOOK” is his baby, he wants to keep running and keep growing it.

In real life, Mark is always shy and reserved although he is trying to make the world a more open by helping people connect and share.

Facebook is blue because Mark Zuckerberg is red-green colorblind. Blue is the color he feels best; colour of confidence and growth therefore, the predominant color on all Facebook pages is blue.

Education & Social Life Mark started his high school education at Ardsley High School in New York, but he found that this school wasn’t challenging him enough so he transferred to Phillips Exeter Academy, a boarding school.

After graduating high school, he attended Harvard University but dropped out after his sophomore year.

He also created a music program called Synapse, which used artificial intelligence to learn about the user’s listening habits.

Because of Synapse, Microsoft and AOL tried to recruit Mark and buy his program but he denied the offer.

Where did the name came from?

An actual facebook is a student directory that is published by a Harvard University every year with pictures of all students faculty and staff.

How it began and bumps along the way On October 28, 2003 Zuckerberg was blogging about a girl who had dumped him when he got the idea to create Facemash.

Facemash was a site which compares two people that who is hot and who is not and which is decided by the votes of the users.

Zuckerberg hacked into Harvard’s computer network to obtain the pictures of students from the different dorm’s online facebooks.

The site was shut down a few days later by the Harvard administration and Zuckerberg faced expulsion but the charges were dropped.

On February 4, 2004 Mark launched (thefacebook.com)

Within 24 hours the site had between 12 to 15 hundred members.

Membership was originally restricted to only Harvard students but gradually expanded to most colleges in the US and Canada.

The company bought the domain name facebook for $2,00,000 (Approx. 1,20,05,000.00 ) in 2005 dropping the “the” from the name.

On September 26, 2006 Facebook opened to everyone over the age of 13 with a valid e-mail address.
