We had a good turnout to the Saturday meeting last month with 20 people arriving and stitching for the day and another 13 people arriving for the meeting portion at 1 pm. Everyone seemed to enjoy the opportunity to sit and stitch amongst the company of other like minded people. It was nice and relaxing to be able to have time to chat to other members, see what they were working on, and have more time looking at our fabulous library books. There was also a good discussion about the possibility of Marlborough hosting a mini symposium and Sharyn Simpson is looking into this further.

Unfortunately I will not be at the next meeting which is on Saturday 24 August (note the date – not the end of the month as there is another function booked that day) but our lovely committee will be on hand to oversee proceedings and Gail Stewart will be displaying her paverpol creations and inspiring you.

I encourage you to attend the day 10.00 – 4 pm. Stitching time will happen until 12.30 when set up will happen ready for the meeting part of the day at 1 pm and then you are welcome to stay on and stitch until 4 after the meeting. Remember this is the second Saturday trial day and we have one more in September where we will have a discussion/vote about what happens next. In the meantime if you have any suggestions for club improvements please flick me an email or give me a call.

Keep working on those lovely challenge quilts (due at the September meeting) and your exhibition quilts. And remember there will be prizes at the September meeting for original nametags!
