We are looking for a College or University that is interested to set up an international teaching program for teachers and be able to offer them Masters & doctoral training. We have a strong HK IAIE centre that could be able to offer logistic support.

Our emphasis is on Invitational Education & Leadership other than the current trends and themes of Education. Pl give me some more possible arrangements (period of the year, duration etc.) and proposal from your side!!

A cohort is a group with a common goal and common guidelines.

Marshall requires a cohort that never drops below 12 educators working on the I.E. master’s program in order to schedule classes at reduced prices for the group. Since some students may drop out, the cohort must begin with 15 or more enrollees.

Summer 2009: Intro to I.E. and 21st Century IE Schools, taught live at Marshall University

Fall 2009: CI 609/610 Curriculum, EDF 616 Advanced Human Studies, and EDF 612 Education Evaluation (all online)

January 2010: Methods in I.E. and I.E. Professional Development live in Hong Kong

Spring 2010: CI 549 Classroom management, CIEC 534 Education software, EDF 621 Research and Writing (all online)

Summer 2010: IE Leadership and CI 659 Symposium live in Hong Kong. Graduation follows completion.

☼ 6 Face-to-face courses provided as professional development with Cabell County Schools to reduce tuition to $189 per course per student, plus an administrative cost of $500 per course to be paid by the cohort.

☼ On-line courses cost $786 per course per student.

☼ 36 Graduate Hours for the Master’s Degree costs approximately $6,250 U.S. for tuition.

☼ Graduate Record Exam (GRE) required for admission to any graduate program: $140

☼ Books/Supplies: estimate $100+ per course

☼ Housing/Meals in July at Marshall: estimate $700

☼ Graduate Record Exam is required for a Masters or Doctoral student before or during the FIRST semester of study

☼ Score of 800 or above needed on Verbal and Quantitative sections to continue with degree work

☼ The GRE will be scheduled for HK students attending Marshall on Saturday, July 18, 2009 between 2 weeks of classes (or may be taken in Hong Kong with records sent to M.U.)

☼ Cost: $140 on day of the test

☼ Dormitory style, double occupancy, air conditioned suite: $23.80 per night

☼ Single occupancy : $30.25 per night

☼ Bed linens may be brought by student or rented

for extra $5 charge

☼ Invitational Education courses offered for MA can count as electives toward a Doctorate. Doctorate credits include minimum of 15 hours of electives.

☼ NOTE: Doctoral candidates enrolling in these courses will NOT be part of the Masters degree cohort. (Masters course CI 580; Doctoral course CI 780)

Cohort courses would be scheduled: ☼ 2 in the fall semester

☼ Tuition cost per course varies based on delivery method (face to face at M.U., face to face in HK, “T-course” with telecom meetings plus internet, online course all on internet, third party contract with WV educators in a cohort)

☼ With a cohort to justify 3rd party contracts, total cost of tuition would average between $15,000 and $20,000 U.S.
