How to repair M2K profile I

with Pcb main board failture

(Ver 2.0)

Introduction The M2k profile I are discontinued for several years. Many user of them face pcb main board failure with them. The failture pcb main board are difficult to repair now. Our experience prove that the pcb main board of M2K profile II can replace the main pcb of M2K profile I. You need to install a SMPS to replace the magnetic transformer to supply power for new main pcb. This document explains how to finish the replacement step by step. A Pcb main board for m2k profile II B SMPS Upgrade for m2k Series C Wireset PSU, SMPS output D Wireset, SMPS Input, 2x0.75, 400mm E brace for SMPS F M6x16mm. allen bolt low black (x1) G M4x8 Torx screw black (x2) H cable tie (x20)

Key of the replacement The figure 2 show what is the same function connector in the two

main pcb. Please plug the circuit lead to the same number

connector.

Replacement step: 1. Disconnect the fixture from power, allow to cool, and place on a

workbench. Take precautions against ESD (electro-static discharge). 2. Remove the covers. Use the pan lock and tilt lock to immobilize the

head. 3. Swing the main PCB side base cover and the ballast side base cover

open. 4. Please mark all the circuit leads and record the the function of every

circuit lead. 5. Disconnect all the circuit lead from failure main pcb ,remove the failure

main pcb. 6. Remove magnetic transformer, see figure 3

7. Use “M6x16mm. allen bolt low black” (F in the part list) to fix “ brace for SMPS”((E in the part list) in the position of magnetic transformer. See figure 4.

8. Use “M4x8 Torx screw black” (G in the part list) to fix “SMPS Upgrade for m2k Series” (B in the part list). See figure 5

9. Install “Pcb main board for m2k profile II” (A in the part list) to replace of failure main pcb.

10. Use “Wireset, SMPS Input, 2x0.75,400mm” (D in the part list) to connect main filter to “SMPS Upgrade for m2k Series” (B in the part list). It will supply AC power to SMPS. See figure 6.

11. Use “Wireset PSU, SMPS output” (C in the part list) to connect SMPS

to main board. It will supply DC power to main board. 12. Please refer to the figure 2, plug all circuit lead to the same function’s

connector. See figure 7.

13. Check that all wiring is secure, and Use cable tie to fasten the wiring. 14. Replace all covers
