Week 9 Thursday 21st June, 2012
Dear Parents,
ASSEMBLY: Parents and community members are invited to
attend our assembly tomorrow morning at 9.30am. We will be
announcing the Term 3 Prefects along with items from KD, Class
1S and Class 2M.
WORLD OF MATHS: Last Friday the World of Maths travelling
roadshow visited to show children from MPS and Goulburn East
PS the wonders of Mathematics. All children who attended this
fun day enjoyed the maths, origami, drawing and fitness
activities on offer. We would like to thank our P&C for providing
lunch and the band of mothers who assisted.
BUTTERFLY & MOVIE DAY: Next Friday SRC have organised a
fundraiser for the “Deafness Foundation”. We are asking for a
donation of $2 and each child will receive a butterfly badge.
Butterfly badges are being sold on consignment for the Deafness
foundation and are available @$2 each. Children can dress in
casual clothes with sensible covered shoes (joggers preferred).
We will be showing G rated movies for K-2 and Years 3-6.
CWA POSTER COMPETITION: Posters must be handed in to Mrs Darling by Monday morning 25th
June. CWA ladies will be collecting them later in the day.
STOP WORK MEETING: Teachers Federation are holding a 24hour Stop Work Meeting next
Wednesday June 27th. Our school will be operational however, there will only be minimal
supervision. There will be no library and normal class programs will not occur due to some
teachers attending the Stop Work Meeting.
MINI OLYMPICS: Next Tuesday we will be holding our Mini Olympics. Students will be taking part in
many Olympic type events during the day including: javelin, marathon, showjumping course,
shotput, rowing, long jump, high jump, soccer, volleyball, archery, lawn bowls and discus.
Parents are welcome to attend this day and assistance for some events would be greatly
appreciated. Children are required to bring their sponsor sheets in on the day for teachers to
stamp and sign. Children who do not have sponsors are still
expected to participate in this school event. Please ensure your
child/children bring plenty of water, lunch, fruit and wear warm
clothing over their sports uniform. The weather forecast is for a
clear but cold day.
HEAD LICE: The school has been notified of cases of head lice.
Please take the time to check children’s hair and treat if
necessary.
BOOK PACKS: Students have almost completed Semester One
utilising books, pencils etc for daily learning. Some book pack
payments are still outstanding and we require them to be
finalised as soon as possible. Receipts for payments made will be issued and can be claimed
when you submit your tax return.
FAREWELL: With sadness we say Goodbye to the Harris family. Mitchel and Jacob have been
valued students at MPS and will be sadly missed. We wish them all the best at their new school.

MARULAN PS MINI OLYMPIC-A-THON
Tuesday June 29th all students will take
part in a fun day of Olympic type events
in aid to raise much needed funds to
purchase Interactive Whiteboards for
our classrooms.
The photos herewith show students
utilising them in lessons and also the
technology required for Interactive
Whiteboards to be functional.
We have a goal of $20,000 to raise and with
family support, community members and
businesses alike we hope to achieve this figure.
Prizes:
$5.00 - $50 – bouncyball or skipping rope
$50 - $150 – Soccerball or football or netball or
AFL ball
$150 & over - $50 Store gift voucher
There is also a prize for the student who raises the
most funds.
Interactive Whiteboards are a vital part of our
children’s education, keeping them updated with modern technology.
We hope all families can assist with fundraising for this worthwhile cause. We do however
discourage the children from walking door to door to gain sponsors.
