Mary M. Caldanaro, age 65, of Rensselaer, passed away on December 3, 2012, at her home with her loving family around her. Mary was born to John and Agnes (nee: Nagel) Takacs in Rensselaer on December 8, 1946. She graduated from DeMotte High School in 1965. On July 31, 1965, she married Richard Caldanaro. Mary was a member of Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church. She was employed by Fagen Pharmacy for 19 and a half years. Mary was the heart of her large family. She served others her whole life. She was a great listener and always told it as it was. She was proud of being a hard worker and feisty Hungarian. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed being outdoors and doing projects around the home. Mary is survived by her husband, Richard, and children: Renee (Ryon) Shaw, Alicia (Ryan) Wildfang, Richard Jr. (Robin) Caldanaro, Maria (Bob) Galles, Sara (Aaron) Witt, and Matt Caldanaro. Mary also leaves 15 grandchildren, sisters: Joan (Ed) Gulbransen and Ann (Mike) Roadruck, and brothers: John (Linda) Takacs, and Dave (Donna) Takacs to cherish her memory. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Takacs. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012 and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church, 165 Grace St., Wheatfield, Indiana. Funeral Mass will take place at the church at 10:00 a.m. on December 7, 2012 with Father Paul Cochran officiating. Interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Resurrection. Memorials may be made to the Sorrowful Mother Catholic Church or St. Anthony Hospice.
