    REGISTRATION BEGINS Monday, November 30, 2015

    FEESThe fee for each course is included within the course description. Instructors in certain courses will collect supply fees to cover the cost of materials. Fees or credit card numbers must accompany mail reservations in order to be considered. Mail and fax registrations will automatically be accepted unless otherwise notified. A $20 FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY CHECKS RETURNED BY THE BANK. SC=Cheektowaga Senior Citizen/Maryvale Staff

    NO SMOKINGSmoking is prohibited in all school buildings and grounds.

    LIFELONG LEARNERS CARDCheektowaga Senior Citizens, age 60 years or older, are required to have a Lifelong Learners Card to receive a senior citizen discount. This card entitles the owner to a discount on some classes. This discount can only be granted at the time of registration and only for courses taken by the individual whose name is on the card. This card is available at anytime in our office. Please bring proof of age and Cheek-towaga residency. SC = Senior Citizen Fee.

    High School EquivalencyAdults who did not graduate from high school can prepare for the TASC. An individualized study plan is designed for each student. Computers and textbooks are used to improve Reading, Math and Writing skills. A flexible schedule allows new students to enter the program at anytime during the year.     Online High School Equivalency Skills TutorChild care problems, working all day, cant get to class? If you own a computer you can sign up for High School Equivalency preparation and work online any time from home. This program includes three hours of optional personal tutoring each week at Maryvale. Call 635-4666 and ask to speak with Vicky Vecchiarella for more information.

    Discover Sign Language This is an instructor facilitated online course. For more details visit www.ed2go.com/maryvale. Discover the fun of learning sign language and using your hands to communicate with the hearing impaired population. Fee: $90

    TASC testing on the first day includes Sci-ence and Math. The second day tests are Reading, Language Arts Writing and So-cial Studies.

    Test applications will be accepted from students in approved HSE Prep Programs at the center during office hours. Faxed applications will not be accepted. Call 635-4666 for available test dates.

    GRASP (Home High School Equivalency Program)

    Must be at least 21 years of age and have a 9th grade reading level.

    Start with 1 packet of 12 hours of homework and when that is completed another packet will be ready.

    There will be 2 packets that need to be completed each month until you are ready to take the TASC exam.

    Tutoring will be made available for any-one in the home study program.

    Study in the comfort of your own home.

The class sessions will assist adults in vocabulary-building, conversation practice and understanding written English. Beginner and advanced students are welcome. New students can start anytime.     Polish OnlineLearn Polish one-on-one with your level and speed. Six private half-hour classes are scheduled with the instructor at panilucyna@hotmail.com. You will need: a computer with a webcam; an e-mail account; and basic computer skills.     Pathways Program

    Is College in your Future? If so, Erie Community College and Maryvale Community Education will be offering Pre-Collegiate Studies. These tuition free courses are designed to be fun and help you develop the skills you need to be successful in college. To be eligible for classes you must have a high school diploma or have recently taken the TASC. Hurry!!!! Class sizes are limited. To register or for more information please call Erie Community College di-rectly at 851-1243.

    PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS Maryvale Community Education is in-volved in a partnership with Erie Com-munity College to provide services to adults age 18 and over who are prepar-ing to attend college. Free classes in basic math and reading skills, TASC Prepara-tion and English for Speakers of Other Languages will be offered at Maryvale locations to adults who need to brush-up before enrolling at Erie Community Col-lege. Students who successfully complete the Pathways to Success program can be quickly enrolled in degree programs at Erie Community College. Classes are offered in the daytime and the evenings. The class sessions will introduce students to Polish vocabulary, grammar and practical communication skills. Learning the Polish Alphabet, pronunciation and reading will be addressed in this course.
