Shaykh Abdur Raheem_______________________________

Shaykh al-Hadith Hadhrat Mawlana Abdul Raheem Limbada (hafidhahullah) was born in Gujarat, India where he also spent most of his childhood. By the age of 9, Shaykh had already com-pleted his preliminary Islamic studies along with memorizing more than 26 Juz of the Quran in an impressive period of only 9 months. Thereafter he came to the U.K. with his father Shaykh Dawood, also a scholar and formerly the imam of the original Markaz in Dewsbury.

Shaykh enrolled at Darul Uloom Bury at a young age and com-pleted his ‘Alim course in 1984 under the tutorship of Shaykh Yu-suf Motala (DB), Shaykh Islamul Haq (ra) and others.

After graduating, he pursued further study at Mazahir ul Uloom, Saharanpur (India) under the tutorship of the great luminary Shaykh Yunus Jaunpuri (student of Shaykh al-Hadith Zakariyya Kandhalwi), Mawlana Muhammad Aqil, (student and son in law of Shaykh Zakariyya (ra), Mawlana Salman (Student of Shaykh Za-kariyya (ra) and currently the principle of Mazahir Uloom) just to name a few.

He also studied the science of Ifta (Islamic Jurisprudence and de-livering verdicts on the rulings of Shariah) under the tutorship of Mufti Mahmood Ul Hasan Gangohi (ra).

Shaykh has Ijazah to narrate hadith from Shaikh al-Hadith Maw-lana Muhammad Zakariyya (ra) as well as his various tutors.

Shaykh has spent the last 25 years teaching and lecturing on the various texts which form the Dars Nizami Curriculum. Amongst them are the Tafsir of al Baydhawi, Tafseer al-Jalalain, Mishkat Al Masabeeh, the sunans of Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah, and the Sahihayn of al-Bukhari and Muslim. He has also taught the Mukhtasar of Al Quduri, the famous text of jurisprudence al Hidayah and Sharh Al ‘Aqaid An Nasafiyyah.

Shaykh also possesses a profound command over Arabic litera-ture, having taught the Maqaamaat of al Hariri for over twenty years. During lessons he often quotes entire passages from mem-ory. His knowledge of the Arabic language is a powerful aid in explaining the meanings of the words of the Quran whilst lectur-ing on Tafsir.

Currently he gives lessons daily on the Sahih of Imam Muslim at Darul Uloom Bury along with various other books. He also teach-es a part of Imam Bukhari’s collection – an honour reserved only

for the most esteemed scholars.

Along with his teaching engagements, Shaykh has provided de-tailed classes on the tafseer of the Quran to the public for over twenty years at Darul Uloom and in his own locality.

Shaykh travels tirelessly around the country and around the world delivering talks in order to educate and rectify the Muslim com-munity. Shaykh delivers discourses in Arabic, Urdu and English.

He has also authored many articles and delivered thousands of lectures throughout the world, his lessons on tafseer and hadith as well as various discourses and Q&A’s are available on the in-ternet.

He also guides people along the path of Tasawwuf and he has authorization in the Chisti, Naqshbandi, Qadri and Suharwardi or-ders from Shaykh Yusuf Motala (DB) and Shaykh Yunus Jaunpuri (ra).

Shaykh also accompanies and provides guidance for pilgrims dur-ing the journey of hajj.

May Allah (SWT) grant Shaykh a long prosperous life so that we may continue to benefit from his lessons and knowledge, and may Allah (SWT) accept all his efforts and make them a means of salvation for him and his loved ones. Ameen.
