whereas others may help you feel a sense of connection to God’s presence or grace. Candles, incense, and meditative music help to create a reverent and quiet atmos-phere which fosters opportunities to enter personally into communion with God. Some stations have items which are “hands on” while other stations may in-volve tasting or consuming a symbolic food to help enrich the prayer experience. As you move from station to station, you will encounter items to take with you as a symbolic reminder of your experience. This is your unique experience, your unique time with the Lord, your oppor-tunity to know God and sense God’s presence in new ways. The prayer room also provides partici-pants an opportunity to grow in faith and learn something new about themselves. It can be an experience that changes our perception of God and how God works in our lives. We invite you, therefore, to renew your relationship with God by visiting the prayer room. Spend time to listen, wait, and experience the grace of the living God. Come and allow God to speak to your heart. Let the Holy Spirit ignite the fire of God’s love and compassion deep within. Experience God’s presence anew; see where God’s grace is waiting to be poured out. Come and encounter the Sto-ry, the Spirit, the Scripture!

Come to the Aquinas Center Friday, March 24th, 12:30pm –8:00pm Saturday, March 25th, 9:00am-7:00pm Sunday, March 26th, 9:00am-2:00pm.

Multi-Sensory Prayer Room:

A Lenten Prayer

Experience - Journey to the Cross This is a new offering for our parish, one which will expand your ability to hear the Lord. Because we are multi-sensory learners, God speaks to us through our senses: seeing, hearing, smelling, tast-ing, and feeling. A prayer experience that brings all five of our human senses into play, therefore, can become an en-gaging prayer experience in which we take an active role in our encounter, communion, and connection to God. Working with this insight, the Lenten Prayer Room- Journey to the Cross, in-corporates traditional church symbols within a unique setting that enhances the prayer experience by providing partici-pants with several options for their pray-er time. This creates a personalized prayer time which allows participants to discover a connection to God through their senses, guiding them into a deep and meaningful dialogue with the living God. In the Journey to the Cross Prayer Expe-rience we reflect on the last 7 days of Jesus’ life. Here’s what you can expect in the Lenten Prayer Room. When you enter the prayer room, you will find a variety of prayer stations. You can spend as much or as little time at as you feel necessary at any one station, moving through each station at your own pace. There may be some stations that don’t “touch your heart” or work for you,

2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

The 2017 Annual Catholic Appeal is un-derway throughout the Diocese of Brook-lyn and here at Saint Thomas Aquinas. Our theme for 2017 is Live in Faith– Give in Love. Our parish goal this year is $58,716.00. Your support is needed to help us reach this goal. The Annual Catholic Appeal focuses on encouraging vocations, to expand our ministries of service to the immigrant, the poor and marginalized members of our society and to educate and form the next generation of disciples through our schools, academies and religious educa-tion programs. Your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal provides funding for the various programs critical to the Diocese of Brooklyn and the Parish of Saint Thom-as Aquinas. Through the Appeal’s parish sharing, all monies received over our as-signed goal will be returned back to the parish.

We thank God for all of his blessings and recognize that as we look back in appreci-ation, we must look forward with a sense of responsibility to help those in need. Pledge 10 Monthly Payments $2,500.00 $250.00 per month $1,000.00 $100.00 per month $ 750.00 $ 75.00 per month $ 500.00 $ 50.00 per month $ 250.00 $ 25.00 per month $ 200.00 $ 20.00 per month $ 150.00 $ 15.00 per month $ 100.00 $ 10.00 per month $ 50.00 $ 5.00 per month A gift by every household is important for the continued success of this effort, which supports diocesan programs as well as our parish need. Your gift in the form of a pledge payable over a 10 month period is important and will go a long way to help-ing us reach our assigned goal.

2017 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL

PRAYER LIVE IN FAITH-GIVE IN LOVE

God our Creator, Giver of all good gifts, we praise and glorify you.

Teach us to acknowledge always, and with enduring gratitude, the many blessings your infinite love has showered upon us. Widen

our vision and enliven our generosity, as we seek to support the pastoral and charitable

works of our diocese in Brooklyn and Queens.

All-loving Father, Fountain of Mercy, we

honor and adore you.

Open our hearts to welcome the Holy Spirit, who enables us to live in faith and give in

love, so that the joy of the Gospel may pen-etrate every heart in our local

communities. Open our eyes and stir up in us your com-passion, so that all may come to know your Son, Jesus Christ, the way, the truth and

the life, now and forever. Amen.
