THERE WILL NO LONGER BE A COST FOR MASS INTENTIONS

In order to ease the financial burden of having Masses said for our deceased loved ones,

beginning August 1, 2014 the suggested donation of $5.00 will be waived.

Those who wish may choose to make an additional donation to their weekly offering.

A Mass Intention Binder will remain on a table in the main aisle of Church so that parishioners may write the names of their loved ones

on the page for the day they wish to have the mass said. Mass Intentions will no longer be made through the Parish Office. An itemized list of names will no longer be printed in the bulletin or read prior to the mass.

Therefore names may be added anytime prior to the mass being said.

Mass intentions made prior to August 1st will automatically be included in the binder.

Perpetual Giving The love you’ve shown, the path you’ve walked,

the little kindnesses, the daily courage and

the generosity you’ve shown, these reflect your

savior’s love. And are the legacy you’re living

as well as Leaving! Please consider St. Joseph Parish

when planning your estate.

THE KINGDOM ‘S HIDDEN WORK Jesus says the kingdom is like the yeast a woman works into a

batch of flour, where it leavens the mass, filling it with bubbles of life. Like the mustard seed, yeast starts very small and grows in a completely natural way. But there is a human factor

here, the woman using the yeast to make bread. And the yeast does not just grow; it acts on something else to

transform it entirely, changing the flour and water from a kind of sticky paste into life-giving bread.

So the kingdom does not just happen out in the world somewhere, but works within us, like yeast, often at the hands of another, indeed often at the hands of a woman. It transforms who

we are, our lives and souls, from the inside out.

Bi-Weekly Bible Study Lessons are now available

A Prayer for Sight & Service Lord, my life is full. I hear your call to service

but I do not know what more I can do. I promise you this. If you give me sight and

opportunity, I will act. If you show me a need to fill, a person to touch,

a wound to heal, I will try to respond. If you lead me and give me the time, I will serve your people. Amen.

“Instead of being just a church that welcomes and receives

by keeping the doors open, let us try also to be a church that

finds new roads, that is able to step outside itself and go to those who do not attend Mass,

to those who have quit or are indifferent.” Pope Francis
