Why should we care? We should all care when

innocent people are murdered for no reason at all. What happened at Columbine was unimaginable. Bullied students opened fire on they’re classmates. We don’t see the effect we have on people when we make fun of them. We don’t see how much it really effects them until it gets really bad.

The 1990’s was a decade filled with technology changes such as the introduction of the internet. Also, the first living thing was cloned, which was a lamb named “Dolly.” Spice girls, Britney Spears, and Mariah Carey were big hits in the 1990’s.

Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 12 students and one teacher on April 20, 1999. The students that were killed were Steven Curnow, Daniel Relrbough, Kelly Heming, Matthew Kechter, Kyle Velasquez, Lauren Townsend, John Tomlin, Daniel Mauser, Rachel Scott, Isaiah Shoels, Cassie Bernall, and Corey DePooter. The teacher killed was Dave Sanders. All of these people tried to save themselves whether it was hiding under desks or staying out of sight.

On April 20, 1999 two high school boys opened fire on their school. These boys had it out for everybody in their school because they were bullied. Both of them arrived in the cafeteria at 11:10 during a lunch period. They looked normal so nobody bothered with them until the started throwing bombs. The first killed was Rachel Scott while she was eating lunch outside near the west entrance of the school. This massacre went on for about 5 hours. Twelve students were killed and one teacher.

This cartoon means that you should never think “oh that won’t happen here” because it just might. I bet the students at Columbine High School thought it wouldn’t happen either, but unfortunly it did.

Here is a video clip of the Columbine Massacre :

Do you understand? 1. Why did the boys decide to open fire on students?

2. How do you feel about the event that happened at Columbine?

3. Do you think this could happen in schools around Knox County?

Page 10: Massacre of columbine high school

The song that I think best represents the event that happened is “Hero” by Super chick.

This song best represents it because if someone was just nice to them and showed a little bit of kindness then maybe they wouldn’t have done what they did. You can save a life by just doing what's right in life. Don’t bully or harass because you never know what people are capable of.

Where can I go for more info? This website best represents this event:

Show a little bit of kindness even when you think you shouldn’t because it can go a long way for some people. What happened at Columbine High School could happen anywhere. Twelve students and one teacher had their lives taken away from them so something we can stop everyday. Don’t degrade anybody, you don’t know what they are going through. I am sorry to the families of the victims. May they rest in peace.
