Pastor’s Corner Dear Parishioners,
What a fantastic “Seven Last Words” concert that
was put on by Dr. Christian Marcoe and our combined
choirs. The response was extraordinary. Music was
described as uplifting. The children sounded like angels.
Thank you to all of you who supported our concert. We
appreciate you!
The same night as the concert was our high school annual Gala. Sr.
Roberta White, B.V.M. was one of the honorees. Despite her retirement, she
goes to the high school on Fridays to teach some religion classes. We
appreciate her dedication and service. She is a real and genuine and loving soul.
Also honored was our art teacher, Ms. Kristina Faragher. Ms. Faragher is a
spiritual and loving human being who has been extremely dedicated over her 14
years of service at our high school. The last honoree was someone who I had
never met before: Dr. Barbara (Bobbi) Carlson. Dr. Carlson was a contemporary
of Sr. Suzanne and Sr. Mary Jeanne Stopper back in the 1940s. A great time
was had by all to support scholarships for our students.
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. Please make note of our upcoming holy
week schedule and confessions.
We are praying for Fr. Juan as his legs and voice have been a bit weak
lately. Please be assured that Fr. Juan is well cared for. We priests are watching
out for him! We have many dedicated parishioners who help to take care of him
also. In addition, Sr. Isabel from the archdiocese is a lookout in terms of pastoral
care and watching out for our elderly priests. That is her job as assigned by the
archbishop. All the higher ups in the archdiocese are kept apprised of his health
status. Thank you for your prayers.
Are you registered here at Holy Family? If not, why not? Registration
offers special advantages and helps to keep you in the loop in terms of what’s
happening at Holy Family. Registration information is kept entirely confidential,
and it is the way that we do things here in our Catholic church in the USA. If you
join a health club, you register for a membership. If you join a church, you do the
same. Registration may be done online on our parish website or you may
download a registration form and turn it in to our office. Or, you may come to our
office to pick up and complete your registration form. Be sure you are registered
today!
Mark the date: our Leadership Summit is coming up Tuesday, May 16th
at 6:30 PM. The focus is going to be on our upcoming capital campaign with
clarifications about the master plan and the capital campaign process. Keep on
Rollin’ is scheduled for Saturday, June 17th. We are honoring the Glendale
Kiwanis Club, Joan and Steve Dundas and Father Marcial Juan.
Peace

Honor Your Loved Ones During Easter!
Holy Family will offer three options to honor your loved ones
during the Easter Season.
The orchid arrangements in the church will bloom during the Easter season until
Pentecost. Seven arrangements will be available to honor your loved one. A special
plaque will be on a stand between the Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph statues with
the names to be honored. The arrangement donations will be accepted on a first come
basis. The orchid arrangements will be at: Main altar left, main altar right, ambo, Sacred
Heart, Blessed Mother, Divine Mercy, Our Lady of Guadalupe and Adoration Chapel.
Please contact the parish office if you would like to donate one of these special
arrangements.
This year we will have two Easter gardens planted outside the church. One in the front
of the church at the Elk Street entrance and one around the Ten Commandments
monument on the corner of Lomita and Louise. You can donate a rose bush in honor
of your loved one. The amount is $50 for one name or couple. There will be a plaque
at each location with the names to be honored. This will stay in place until Pentecost
Sunday. Please contact the parish office or you may use an Easter flower envelope
and clearly write the name of the person to be honored on the envelope. Also indicate
“rose bush” on the envelope. The last day to turn in the names of your loved ones will
be Monday, April 10th.
You may also donate an Easter lily plant in the sanctuary to honor one of your
deceased relatives or friends. The donation is $10 and the names will be posted on a
plaque in the Lady of Guadalupe Niche. Please use one of the Easter Flower
envelopes for your donation and write the name clearly on the envelope. Also indicate “
Easter lily” on the envelope. The last day to turn in the names of your loved ones will be
Monday, April 10th.

Bendito sea Dios! Bendita sea la Virgen María de
Guadalupe!
Renunciar a cosas agradables supone sacrificio.
oraciones.
