PROJECTS

1. Stress Analysis of Door and Window of Boeing 787 anisotropic Aircraft

This Project was my Dissertation during Masters of Engineering, I have published the paper in International Journal of Engineering, Research and Technology Journal (IJERT). Model was developed using Ansys and analysis was done using Structural Analysis of an Orthotropic Material to find Stress Concentration Factor (SCF around the Door or Window and when both are present in the vicinity. These were compared with the results obtained by analytical solution in Matlab. Following are the results obtained,

Fig.1: Shows the SCF around the Door; Top: Ansys Results; Bottom (Left) : Conformal Mapping of Door; Bottom (Right): SCF around Door.

2. Thermal Analysis of Inconel 718I was part of a Group doing this project, where I was responsible to do the cutting operation at the desired temperature, so after thermal analysis the critical temperature was found it was to be cut or moulded. Following are the pictures,

An automated system was developed using a thermal sensor which would move the specimen front and back when the temperature is varying in front of the lathe machine.

3. Removal of Stiction Problems during Microstructure formation:When microstructure are formed, in the process the filaments gets together due to interconnecting forces between them (Vander Val Forces). This is termed as Stiction simply,The system was desgined to remove those forces. I was responsible to Desgin the Vacuum Chamber of the System, Following are the pictures,

Above figure shows the CAD model of the vacuum chamber developed with dimensions using AutoCAD.

Following is the experimental setup,
