Tooting got over Saturday's disappointing 1-0 defeat to Ryrnan League Division One South relegation candidates East Grinstead Town with a comfortable 2-0 win over Hythe Town at Imperial Fields on Tuesday - with Nathan Gordon and Dan Summers netting either side of half-time. Moriarty praised the Terrors' desire and claimed the display showed there is no reason why they can't continue to challenge for promotion to the Premier Division. "We delivered a complete performance,,, he said.'You could tell that we wanted to make up for the disappointment of losing at the weekend. "We've cartainly got an experienced and large enough squad to compete for the play-offs.,' The performance of new goalkeeper Luke Badiali also impressed Moriarty. Badiali joined from Walton Casuals last week to provide cover for fellow custodian paul Smith, who is nursing a bruise picked up in training. "Luke has just come in but took no time to adapt which is great to see," Moriarty said. ,,He didn't have the busiest night but he looked comfortable." Moriarty also confirmed that Smith will be available for selection next week, and added that centre-half David Graves has almost recovered from the injury he picked up at Herne Bay a fortnight ago. "David will probably be fit for the match away at Merstham on November 22," he said.. "The 10-day break comes at a perfect time for us. It's been a hectic schedule of late and we'Il be able to enjoy a well-deserved rest before the next match." A sixth victory in seven league matches Ieaves Craig Tanner's men in fifth place, just a point behind their next opponents, Merstham. Hythe's resistance was broken in the BSth minute when left-back Nathan Gordon skipped inside visiting defender Lewis Mingle before placing a crisp finish inside the near post. It was the 23-year-old's frrst goal of the season and one that his performance richly merited. Summers could have had his goal before the break when he was brought down by Hythe,s Laurence Harvey in the area, but goalkeeper Ruddy Hayward guessed correctly, diving low to his left to save the striker's spot-kick. He made up for his disappointment 12 minutes into the second hal{ though, volleying home from a corner - just moments a{ter he had seen a free-kick saved by Hayward - to make it 14 league goals for the season.
