Our competitive advantages

The ICI (Intelligent Cities Institute) has its headquarters in the city of Curitiba. Located in southern Brazil, Curitiba is the capital of Paraná state. Also, it has the fourth largest GDP (Gross Domestic Product) and one of the highest rates of HDI (Human Development Index) of Brazil. Implementation of Quality Card (Cartão Qualidade) project, multifunctional device with benefits to managers and civil public servers.

Implementation of Health Quality Card (Cartão Qualidade Saúde), which registered all actions of the service network of the health units of Curitiba.

“Cartão Qualidade Saúde” system goes through evolution. New features were implemented as Dental Care Record, Medical Appointments Center, Beds of Regulation Center, among others.

E-procurement System portal was created for the City Hall of Curitiba.

“Digitando o Futuro” program receives quality certiticate, granted at the Congresso de Informática e Inovação na Gestão Pública (Conip).

City Hall call center 156 becomes operated by ICI.

Project with the City Hall of Fortaleza (CE) includes the development and implementation of solution for computerization of the municipal health system.

Public Management System was created to control expenses, revenues, accounting, bidding, and accountability in the relevant municipal bodies of the City Hall of Curitiba.

SGPICI dedicates exclusive team to implement Instituto Curitiba de Saúde. The project comprised from the signaling plan to the implementation of call centers, development of systems and computerization of offices.

“Digitando o Futuro” provided free internet access and offered the population 4 MB e-mail accounts.

Project with the Government of the state of Paraná includes implementation of the Public Security Integrated System and “Telecidadão” project.

The website of the City Hall of Curitiba features as one of the best in iBest award in the categories "Government" and "Regional Paraná".

ICI develops PMC’s dynamic website in ASP.NET.

ICI supplies logical structure and CIT maintenance for “Justiça no Bairro” program. A partnership program with the court of justice of the state of Paraná.

Hardware items of Curitiba City Hall are part of the inventory with the IT Assets Management System.

“Digitando o Futuro” and “Interclique” received the RankBrasil award as the first public internet network of the Country.

Sismab System manages “Armazéns da Família”, a Curitiba City Hall program.

“Digitando o Futuro” project is expanded and gets a bus with internet access, Interclique.

Multimedia totems, touch screens computer terminals were installed in the streets and spaces of Curitiba to provide information of public interest, such as bus schedules and itineraries, useful phone numbers, weather forecasts and tourist information.

ICI developed solutions to the city halls of Teresina (PI), Paranaguá (PR), Vitória (ES) and Osasco (SP).

ICI provides consulting services to Ipplan, in São José dos Campos (SP) for the implementation of solutions in Research, CRM and Citizen Service (Central 156).

ISS Curitiba is developed to modernize and automate the companies inspection system and the city’s tax collection.

For the first time in 28 years of existence, Curitiba’s City Hall Call Center 156 performs 2 million services in one year.

ICI launches a new website: modern and bold, seeks to convey the image of an innovative institute, active in the technological forefront of the national scene.

Service Desk operates and unifies the technical services channel provided to the Curitiba City Hall users .

ICI develops website for the Accounts Office of Paraná with accessibility features for those with hearing and visual impairment, connection to social networks and mobile applications version.

ICI implements the Mobility Operations Center together with CEiiA. The Center integrates urban mobility programs in Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu (PR) and Brasilia (DF).

ICI receives the Award Prof. Dr. Imre Simon, granted by Assespro, in the category Iniciativa para a Construção de Cidades Digitais.

ICI implements Quality Management System and receives ISO 9001: 2008 certification. Also obtains MPS.BR certification, Services category.

Development and implementation of strategic planning involving all collaborators, with active participation of the managing group.

The first international partnership was established with Center for Excellence and Innovation in the Automotive Industry (CEIIA), from Portugal.

Services and Solutions

Management and Governance

ICI’s work is structured in a governance model, with reputable methodologies and market trends for the performance of its activities.

Service Desk, the Service Level Agreement (SLA), incidents management, requests and problems, and CIT inventory management. More than 9 thousand services performed per month.

We count on a team of qualified professionals and certified with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library), to ensure the application of the service management practices.

Systems Development

ICI keeps in operation approximately 200 applications, between systems and portals, and another 200 electronic services for citizens available on the internet.

17.440 hours/month are dedicated to support, development and systems maintenance activities.

Data Center

Stable and uninterrupted environment, with 156m² of useful area, with approximately 450 physical and virtual servers.

600 databases are stored, with 50 TB available, approximately 300 web portals published and 713 Mbps (internet links).

Support and monitoring are performed under a 24/7 regime, to ensure a safe and quality service.

Data replication at a different physical location and management of the Business Continuity Plan.

Social Projects

Concerned with digital inclusion in the community, ICI offers free internet to the population through wireless network. More than 90 locations in Curitiba, including the surroundings of elementary schools, parks, squares and tourist attractions.

ICI also keeps a partnership with the Justice Court of the State of Paraná since 2004 for the performance of the social liability program “Justiça no Bairro". In addition to the development and maintenance of the system used in the program, ICI storages the data and provides logical infrastructure and technical support in all events.

Websites

ICI develops modern websites, with dynamic management of information. Websites are important channels for communication and democratization of information.

Curitiba City Hall’s website, e.g., has 950 thousand visits/month. ICI also developed the websites for the Federal Justice of Paraná, the Audit Office of the State of Paraná, and Curitiba Music Workshop Website.

Infrastructure

ICI manages a complex technological infrastructure to keep systems and services operation.

More than 86 thousand equipment, 1754 data network, 50 network domains.

Only for the City Hall of Curitiba, ICI manages 33 thousand e-mail accounts and the entire optic fiber network that guarantees connectivity for 100% of the urban equipment.

Quality Card (Cartão Qualidade)

Multifunctional card, using smart card technology and meets many corporate demands, such as access and frequency record, obtainment of payroll-deductible credit and services inside a partner network.

In Curitiba, municipal employees have on more than 600 sales points accredited to “Cartão Qualidade”. 42 thousand active cards with payroll-deductible credit and 102 thousand transactions per month.

Public Management System (SGP)

SGP was conceived to serve the administrative and financial departments of public institutions, aiming at to integrate the processes for a better operational efficiency.

The solution is operating in the city halls of Curitiba and Teresina (State of Piauí). In Curitiba, this system is sued by municipal secretaries, totalizing 8.8 million book entries per year, 3.8 thousand bidding procedures, generating 64 thousand jobs. Integration with the State Audit Office systems.

Documents Electronic Management

On a monthly basis, 115 thousand pages of documents are scanned by the Institute, making the public administration more agile and economic.

Through the system developed by ICI, the City Hall of Curitiba already has more than 8 million documents in digital base.

Municipal Tax Management (GTM)

On an annual basis, GTM system processes 43.2 thousand commercial and construction permits, 624 thousand municipal taxes (IPTU) entries, and 7.6 million collection documents in the City Hall of Curitiba.

The control of the city’s real estates and the management of the overdue tax liability is also made through GTM. Integrated with the Federal Revenue Service.

Service Tax System(Curitiba ISS)

The City Hall of Curitiba collects 67 million Brazilian Reais (R$) per month through the Service Tax System developed by ICI.

36 thousand companies authorized to issue invoices are responsible for the 2 million invoices issued every month.

E-Procurement System

System allowing agility and reliability to the shopping processes of goods and services from the public administration. It allows that the following shopping modalities be carried out electronically: bidding electronic permit, bidding electronic permit - mixed capital company, e-procurement, on-site procurement, e-auction and differentiated hiring system.

All purchases of the City Hall of Curitiba are digitally performed via ICI system. Only in 2013, 34.771 cases were carried out, with more than 16 thousand suppliers registered.

HR Management

ICI’s HR solution comprises features such as admission, payroll, vacation, allocation, frequency.

Education Management

Complete solution for the management of schools, with features such as students registration, registration of grades and absences, frequency, transfer.

In Curitiba, the solution developed by ICI manages the school transcript of 548 thousand students, distributed in 337 schools.

In Teresina (PI), the system allows the management of 92 thousand students, in 326 schools.

Urban Mobility

ICI as national mobility operator, through the feasibility of the insertion of new transport modes. The solution is sustainable and eligible for actions of Carbon Offset, in case of electric fleets.

Controls and monitors fleets and all devices composing the mobility system, and system and users technical support, generating economic and sustainability indicators.

Municipal Guards Management

Operating in the City Hall of Curitiba, the system allows the recording of information and history of each event attended by the Municipal Guard. Only in 2013, 21 thousand events were attended.

Statistical data provided by the application and real time geo-processing enable the planning of preventive actions and the preparation of the city’s map of events.

Health Technology Integrated Solution

Operating in the City Hall of Curitiba, this solution enables the management of all service provided by the Municipal of Health Department, which has more than 200 service points in the city and 10,000 system users (health professionals).

15,000 medical services and 14,000 laboratory tests are made on a daily basis.The system is integrated with the reports center, dental X-Ray, warehouse and programs of the Ministry of Health.

Comprises innovative solutions for business management that support the decision making process of the municipal government.
