Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord

The Father responds

to Jesus’ willing

self-sacrifice by

raising Him to Glory.

As we begin to recall and commemorate the events of that first Holy Week, when Jesus willingly laid aside His Glory and embraced the Cross for our salvation, may we be filled with gratitude and awe at the One who loves us so much.

All Mass Intentions are for our Living and Deceased Parish Members and Benefactors.

Monday, March 26: Almsgiving “Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil made from genuine aromatic nard and anointed the Feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair.” John 12:3 Give the alms of compassion today as Jesus has shown compassion with our faults.

Tuesday, March 27: Fasting “Though I thought I had toiled in vain, and for nothing, use-lessly spent my strength. Yet my reward is with the Lord, my recompense is with my God.” Isaiah 49:4 Fast from surrendering in the face of difficulties. Perse-vere in faith.

Spy Wednesday, March 28: Prayer “I gave my back to those who beat me; my cheeks to those who plucked my beard; my face I did not shield from buffets or spitting.” Isaiah 50:6 Pray for the person whom you trusted and who has be-trayed you.

Holy Thursday, March 29: Almsgiving “He rose from supper and took off His outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around His waist. Then He poured water in a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet.” John 13:4-5 Give the alms of service by preparing a meal for Aid for Friends.

Good Friday, March 30: Fasting “At the name of Jesus, every knee should bend, of those in heaven and on earth and under the earth, for the Lord became obedient to death, death on a cross.” Philippians 2:10-11 Offer your fast today in reparation for offenses against the Holy Name of Jesus and irreverence toward the Holy Eucha-rist.

Holy Saturday, March 31: Prayer “Come, let us return to the Lord. He has torn us to pieces, but He will heal us. He has struck us down, but He will bandage our wounds. After a day or two, He will bring us back to life; on the third day, He will raise us and we shall live in His pres-ence.” Hosea 6:1-3 Pray to Christ lying in the tomb, hidden from men — that He will teach us to love as He loved.
