Students will explain the steps tosimplifying a variable expression, provide phrases used to indicate
various different operations, translatevariable expressions, and identify
how to identify like terms.
Module 3:
Students will be able to explainhow to compare and order
fractions, convert fractions anddecimals, and how prime
factorization relates to finding theGCF.

Learning Goals: Seg. 2
Module 5:
Students will be able to write, solve, andgraph one and two step linear equationsand inequalities, work backwards with
two-step function rules to undoexpressions, use the properties of
equality to represent an equation in adifferent way, and solve non-routine
problems by working backwards.
Module 6:
Students will be able to construct and analyzetables, graphs, and equations to describe linear
functions, determine the measure of centraltendency and variability given set of data, select
and analyze measures of central tendency orvariability to represent, describe, analyze and/or
summarize a data set, and identify and plot orderedpairs in all four quadrants of the coordinate plane.
Module 7:
Students will be able to use reasoning aboutmultiplication and division to solve ratio andrate problems, interpret, compare ratio and
rates, use equivalent forms of fractions, decimals, percents, estimate the results ofcomputations with fractions, decimals, and
percents, and solve percent problemsinvolving discounts, simple interest, taxes, tips and percents of increase or decrease.
Module 8:
Students will be able to solve a problem givena formula, understand the concept of , find
the circumference and area of circles, find theperimeter and area of composite two-
dimensional figures, determine the missingdimension of a plane figure or prism, use
formulas to find surface areas and volume ofthree-dimensional composite shapes.
