• I chose my topic that I studied on.

• After that, I research the sources such as math sites.

• Then I determined the subtitles that I mentioned such as where indices and surds used for the first time.

How I improved…

• In our meeting, they were checked.

• Then I found the missing point.

• After that much knowledge, I have started to combine them.

What my goals were.

• To improve my knowledge about surds and indices.

The HISTORY of MATHEMATIC

Surds Period of Pythagoras, there was a Pythagorean sect.

The people were in that sect believed that they could tell everything in terms of rational numbers. Then one day, Pythagorean found his theorem (A2 + C2 = B2) after that one of his students asked him that how to find hypotenuse. After that much thing, they found a formula like X2=2, but in nature; there was no number which its indices are 2. After that, surds were started to use by mathematicians.

Indices The symbols of indices were used in 1025 for

the first time. One of the famous scientists is Cabir Bin Hayyam who worked on this. He has a book which includes rules about indices that are still true for now. Cabir Bin Hayyam
