TITLE:-To understand the meaning of one half, one third and one fourth ofa whole .
OBJECTIVES: To demonstrate the fraction as a whole.
MATERIAL REQUIRED:Frame of Circle, Blocks of shapes of two
semicircles, three sectors & four quarters of circles.
Pre-Requ!"e #$%&'e()e:-Knowledge of shapes of circles, semicircle,
quarters etc.

'ow remoe one semicircle from the a"oe a"oe arrangement &
show the children that we use taking one out of the two hales so one
"lock of circle is representing one half ()*+ of the circle.

!gain , put all the three thirds sectors circle into the frame of circle. -e
are showing that three thirds of circle completes the whole part.

ACTIVITY NO 2.
TITLE:-To understand the meaning of one fourth, two fourth and three
fourth of a collection.
OBJECTIVES:To demonstrate the fractional num"er as a part of collection
MATERIAL REQUIRED:
#ar"les or Beads or icecream slices.
Tray or Basket
Pre-Requ!"e #$%&'e()e:-
Concept of equality
Concept of Diision in to equal parts.
Pre*+r+"%$ ,%r A""/: -%repare the collection of +2 mar"les in different
trays for different students.
De0%$!"r+"%$:-
Firstly count the mar"les & diide the collection of +2 mar"les into four
equal groups of 3 mar"les in a tray .
emoe on group of mar"le from the tray .
-e will show the students that one group of collection is remoed from
four groups i.e. one out of four is returned or one fourth of collection is
remoed .

Thus each group is representing the onefourth of collection .
emoe second group of mar"les from the tray.
-e hae remoed two groups out of the four these . two fourths is
remoed .
0imilarly, demonstration is gien for three fourths & four 4fourths of
collection of mar"les.
