tax with GST not advisable: CAITNEW DELHI, Oct 2:

Traders' body CAIT todaysaid levy of any cess or tax withthe Goods and Services Tax(GST) is not advisable as it willcontradict the principle of onetax, one nation.

The Confederation of AllIndia Traders (CAIT) in a state-ment said that any move toimpose calamity tax with theGST will set a wrong precedentin the country.

The GST Council last weekset up a seven-member ministe-rial panel under Bihar DeputyChief Minister Sushil Modi toexamine the legality of impos-ing a new tax on certain goodsand services to raise resourcesfor natural calamity-hit stateslike Kerala. (PTI)
