This (silver) is an element. It’s an element because it is a pure substance. Also, it can’t be broken down chemically.

This (water) is a compound because it’s a pure substance and also is made up of two different atoms that are combined.

Second Compound

This (sugar) is also a compound because it’s made up of three different atoms that combine. Sugar is also made up of more than one pure substance.

First Mixture

This flower is a mixture because you cannot make a formula to come up with it. There are also combinations of pure substances that make up a flower.

The cookie is a mixture because many pure substances make it up. You also cannot completely make a formula for this.

This food (frog, muscles, asparagus, & strawberries) are a mixture. There can’t be a formula to make up this (very delicious ) food.

mixture because it’s obviously made up of more than one pure substance and there is no formula to make it.

Also, it does not look the same from top to bottom

and fries are a heterogeneous mix because it looks different form all sides and you can see that it’s different parts.

First Homogeneous Mixture The (pulp free)

orange juice is a homogeneous mixture because it looks the same from top to bottom. Also, you can’t see all the different parts to the juice.

mixture because it’s made up of different pure substances and combine to make something physically new. You also cannot see the difference and looks the same from top to bottom.
