Conclusions

• Construction activities currently more intensive than R&D : SPIRAL2, XFEL, IFMIF-EVEDA, ESS … • Construction of numerous machines consecrates R&D performed over the last ~10 years and strongly relies on in-kind contributions based on specific skills and know-how in our IN2P3 & Irfu community

• Clear road map for R&D, european programs are a vital part of these developments

• Major challenges ahead • superconductivity for accelerating structures and magnets • RF structures : SRF cavities and high gradient cavities for CLIC • high intensity hadrons sources and injectors • electron guns and innovative positron sources • laser-plasma acceleration • series production (cavity/couplers) for XFEL, a solid preparation for ILC
