Welcome to The Twins: EnvironMENTAL Training

When you visit us here be prepared to engage your mind and brain in the reading of tedious, monotonous, boring articles, followed by dull exercises to reinforce the themes and ideas expressed. Sometimes articles will be preceded by a mental drill, which is designed to prepare your mind for the text. We make no apology if you don’t enjoy the experience of your visit. We’re not a toyshop for bored minds, so if you’re bored at work or your studies and are seeking entertainment, this is the wrong place to visit. The Web is filled with everything to suit every taste, however, The Twins: EnvironMENTAL Training is for anyone but most certainly not for everyone.

3 Introducing The Motherboard™

.The Motherboard™ is a children’s game consisting of a hundred rows or lines of numbers which increase incrementally by one: the first row contains a single number; the second row contains two numbers: a repeat of the first row plus an extra number; the third row contains three numbers: a repeat of the second row plus an extra number; the fourth row contains four numbers: a repeat of the third row plus an extra number.

This incremental pattern continues till there are one hundred rows of numbers. A careful examination of any row, with the exception of the first and last, will reveal that with every row, the one immediately above is shorter by one number and the one immediately below is longer by one number.

If you’ve never played The Motherboard™ exercises before, you may not realise that adults can use them to take their attention away from things that may be causing them unnecessary stress or anxiety. The remarkable thing about this children's game is not any cure it effects, but in the way it focuses the attention. All that's required is your Motherboard™ and a willingness to spend time doing the various exercises.

If we can keep our thoughts occupied with something else, most of the worries and anxieties that plague us and waste our time would disappear.

5 Round after round after round: Adding Numbers 1 - 9

Add the numbers 1 - 9 and see how many rounds you can complete without making a single error.

Each time your reach the end of a round, your answer should contain a five or zero. e.g.45, 90, 135, 180.

Restart at round 1 - no matter how many rounds you’ve completed - if any of the following occurs:

Your mind wanders off and are you’re unsure which number you’re on or adding. You add the wrong number.Your result at the end of a round is incorrect.

Add slowly and steadily. Avoid, avoid, avoid any temptation to rush.

< Visualisation is a science and an art. Are you prepared to do whatever it takes to master this faculty?

Look at the image for a few seconds, then close your eyes and see the impression it has made on your mind. Then reopen your eyes, look again at the image and close them again. What is the impression like this time? Continue with the exercise till you can see the image clearly in your mind’s eye.

Do not struggle or fight or wrestle with your mind.

Visualisation is a mental not a muscular exercise.

Do not permit your mind to wander off.

Avoid tension of any kind!

Do not tire yourself in an effort to perfect this exercise.
